The movie opens with a moving convoy traversing the Republic of Kazakhstan. Suddenly, the convoy is halted by a man pretending to cross the road with a cart. Unbeknownst to the bodyguards, they are ambushed by armed men. Chaos erupts as gunfire rains down from all directions, taking out the bodyguards in a swift and brutal manner.
The scene shifts to headquarters, where Kendal is briefed on the dire situation. An email has been sent to the White House detailing the kidnapping of the President's daughter, Elise Prescott, by the ruthless Ulrika and her accomplice Grigori Babishkova. Ulrika, known for her cruelty and cunning, demands to be made the head of state within 48 hours, threatening to harm Elise if her demands are not met.
Elise attempts to escape but tragically loses another life in the process. With the US government's policy of not negotiating with terrorists, Kendal must tackle the situation head-on. She enlists a group of imprisoned mercenaries to rescue Elise in exchange for a presidential pardon.
Among the mercenaries are Cassandra Clay, a participant in a pilot program proving women can serve in combat; Kathryn Morgan, a marine corps-qualified scout sniper; Meilin Fong, an explosive ordnance disposal expert; and Raven, a former agent turned hit woman.
The team, led by Vez, a smuggler, encounters obstacles on their way to the secure fortress where Elise is held captive. Along the journey, they recruit Lexis, a local girl with knowledge of the citadel. Together, they devise a plan to infiltrate the compound.
The mercenaries launch a daring attack on Ulrika's convoy, using a bomb disguised as Meilin Fong, the daughter of a wealthy industrialist. They successfully breach the citadel, where they discover Ulrika's dark secrets and the hostages she keeps captive.
Despite a successful initial operation, the team faces betrayal from within as Raven strikes a deal with Ulrika. Chaos ensues as the mercenaries fight their way through the citadel, arming the prisoners in a bid for freedom, but were no match for Grigori Babishkova who was met by the touch of his own fate.
However, betrayal strikes as Raven turns against the team, leading to a tense confrontation. Despite setbacks, the team rallies together, causing chaos in the citadel and arming the prisoners in a bid for freedom.
In a climactic showdown, Clay proves her unwavering determination to rescue Elise, even at the cost of her own life. The team narrowly escapes Ulrika's clutches, leading to a high-speed chase and a final explosive showdown that ends with Ulrika's demise.
As Elise is brought to safety, justice is served, and the team's sacrifices are honored. Raven meets her deserved fate, a poignant reminder of the consequences of dealing with darkness.
The movie concludes with a sense of closure and resolution, showcasing the bravery and camaraderie of those who risked everything for a greater cause.
