PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS:
Many times, I get to receive calls or messages asking me how I go about getting the quality of pictures I post here of my works and am like (pictures that I take and am not satisfied with them?) And they will say, "no Ma, your picture qualities are great, can you share some tips? And am always happy to share and get great positive feedbacks from people I share with.
Am using a normal Android phone that I've been using for close to 5 years now o (the phone self go soon shout for my head๐) so imagine if am using a good iPhone or high quality Samsung phone with maaad picture quality, una go hear am for me hand๐
So today I thought to share one or two tips with you all, most especially bakers but for other products, these tips can be applied to it and you will get great result.
As bakers, cake/phone photography is something we must learn on a professional level.
You can't put in so much efforts into decorating a cake and pay little or no attention to how you present it to your audience.
There's a saying that "the eyes must eat before the mouth" give your audience the opportunity to see the beautifull outward look of your cakes always, that alone is great marketing skill.
And please don't say it's because you don't have an iPhone or a good Android phone with high quality camera, that is not an excuse.
TIPS FOR GETTING QUALITY CAKE PICTURES:
1. Always use a neat cloth clean your camera lens at anytime you pick up your phone to snap your work.
2. Use natural lights if the lights inside your studio/shop is not strong enough, it's not a must to snap inside the shop, if your lightening is not bright enough please snap outside.
3. Avoid using filters or Snapchat to snap your work
4. If you don't have a good background, buy art cards (the papers used for cake boxes) lye one on the floor and the other on the wall) this white art cards adds sharpness and brightness to your pictures, it enhances the quality of your picture a great deal
5. Always centralize your object (your cake should be at the center of your camera, it should be the main focus)
6. If you are not too okay with the quality of picture you took, you can do a little editing (use apps like: LIGHTROOM or SNAPSEED to edit) play around the apps you will learn to use it the more you play with it.
Which of the tips do you find helpful?
