Last Christmas when I went to the village, I decided to visit our stream. Honestly, it’s so big I’d call it a river, and yes, we have one of the biggest in my village!
Since I can’t swim, I invited some of my girlies to come along. The plan was simple: gist, take pictures, and play by the riverbank.
Anyway, while we were snapping and gisting, others were swimming. Some content creators were even making moves and twerking for the camera.
At some point I went into the bush to p*e. When I came back, I noticed one of my friends, Mmesoma, covering her face like she was embarrassed. I asked, “How far? Wetin happen? You don cast?” (I’m very dramatic, don’t mind me 😂).
Another friend explained:
“Babe, when you left, one fine guy walked up to Mmesoma. He said, ‘Hello, I’m Fred. And you?’ She replied, ‘I’m Soma.’ Then he asked, ‘Do you mind if I talk to you for some minutes?’ Guess what she said? ‘Yes, I mind.’”
Na so the guy just turned and waka comot. 🚶🏽♂️
I asked her, “So you told him Yes, I mind, right?”
She said, “Yes na!”
I laughed till my ribs hurt 😂😂. I explained, “Babe, what you told him was that you DON’T want the conversation. That’s why he left politely.”
Her reaction? “Chai, I mess up o! Who wouldn’t mind that fine boy?” 😂😂😂
I told her to go explain, but the rest of my friends warned her, “Don’t go ooo, you’ll just cast yourself.” And that was the end of it.
Now let me ask you:
If you were the one, would you go back to him and admit you made a mistake?
Or would you walk up to him with another excuse, like saying your head was filled up, just to cover your misunderstanding?
Or would you simply forget about him and count it as lost?
What would you do? 🤔
