NIGERIANS, RALLY ROUND OUR PRESIDENT—DO NOT LET GRIDLOCK DISCREDIT TINUBU’S RECORD

One fallen trailer can paralyse a major Nigerian highway and trap thousands of motorists for hours. The recent Lagos–Ibadan gridlock followed a crash involving two articulated vehicles; the FRSC also reported that panic, lane indiscipline and motorists driving against traffic worsened the congestion.

This is an emergency-response and road-safety problem—not proof that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has failed.

However, repeated crashes, truck breakdowns and prolonged highway obstructions must be urgently investigated. Was each incident caused by an accident, negligence, poor vehicle maintenance or deliberate sabotage? Nigerians deserve the truth.

The government must provide rapid-recovery cranes and tow trucks, enforce strict roadworthiness standards for articulated vehicles, monitor strategic highways and punish dangerous driving.

President Tinubu is undertaking difficult reforms and resetting an economy damaged by decades of structural problems. He asked for the job because he knew he could do it—and what a shot he is giving it!

He is Nigeria’s first real President. For the first time, there is evidence of government everywhere.

Let us rally around our President, defend the reforms and refuse to allow avoidable gridlock or political propaganda to hide the progress being made.

GOD BLESS MR. PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, AS HE WORKS DAY AND NIGHT TO LIBERATE NIGERIA FROM NEO-COLONIALISM AND ECONOMIC SLAVERY.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

LONG LIVE NIGERIA’S BLOODLESS REVOLUTION.

FROM PRIVILEGE TO PURPOSE: SEYI TINUBU, THE PRESIDENT’S SON WHO REFUSED TO SIT ON THE SIDELINES

At a time when privilege is often mistaken for entitlement, Seyi Tinubu has chosen the harder road—service, compassion and national renewal.

There are many things the son of a sitting President could choose to do. He could remain behind the walls of comfort, enjoy the privileges of his position and leave the burdens of ordinary Nigerians to politicians and public officials.

Seyi Tinubu has chosen differently.

Instead of sitting on the sidelines, his initiatives and partnerships have reached hospitals, disaster zones, schools, youth programmes and struggling communities. He is using his influence not merely to be seen, but to mobilise help, open doors and restore hope. That choice deserves recognition.

The sensational question, “Did Seyi Tinubu really raise people from the dead?” is, of course, a metaphor. But it carries a powerful truth: when essential medicine reaches a pregnant woman who cannot afford treatment; when a sick child receives drugs that could prevent an avoidable death; when a flood victim receives food, medical care and the basic necessities of life; or when a young Nigerian receives a laptop, training or an enterprise grant, despair gives way to possibility.

In that human sense, hope is raised and lives are restored.

Through the Seyi Tinubu Maternal and Child Healthcare Intervention Programme, drug banks have been commissioned at institutions including the National Hospital, Abuja, and the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu.

The programme is intended to supply free essential medicines and delivery materials to indigent patients in obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics, with about 60 tertiary hospitals identified for the wider rollout. This is a practical response to one of Nigeria’s most painful realities—the preventable loss of mothers and children because families cannot afford basic treatment.

When devastating floods struck Maiduguri in September 2024, Seyi and Yinka Tinubu, the Noella Foundation, friends and private-sector partners did not merely issue statements of sympathy. They delivered a collective relief package reported as being worth over ₦500 million, including food, household essentials and substantial medical supplies. Doctors were also mobilised to support the state’s health response.

In a moment of tragedy, they answered suffering with action.

Seyi’s work with the Noella Foundation, which he co-founded with his wife, Layal, also speaks to a broader vision. Its initiatives have supported education, employability, vocational skills and entrepreneurship. Laptops and educational grants have helped students prepare for the modern economy, while training and business-support programmes have given young people and entrepreneurs a stronger chance to stand on their own.

This is where Seyi Tinubu’s efforts connect with the larger struggle to free Nigeria from neo-colonial dependence.

Neo-colonialism is sustained not only by foreign influence, but also by poverty, dependency, weak institutions, unemployment and the loss of belief in our own capacity. Every child educated, every young entrepreneur empowered, every mother protected and every community helped to recover is another Nigerian given the power to live with dignity rather than dependence.

Seyi Tinubu understands that national liberation cannot be achieved by speeches alone. It must be built through healthier families, productive young people, stronger communities, indigenous enterprise and a generation confident enough to create rather than merely consume.

Privilege by itself is not an achievement. What matters is what a person does with it. Seyi is increasingly showing that access can be converted into access for others, influence can be mobilised for relief, and proximity to power can become a platform for compassion.

He is not the President. He holds no elected mandate. Yet he could have done nothing—and few would have been surprised. Instead, he has chosen to work, organise, intervene and serve. Nigerians should encourage every privileged young person who makes that choice.

So, did Seyi Tinubu literally raise anyone from the dead? No.

But by helping pull vulnerable Nigerians back from preventable death, disaster, poverty and hopelessness, he is doing something profoundly important: raising hope, restoring dignity and giving people another chance at life.

That is leadership beyond title.

That is privilege transformed into purpose.

That is a worthy son standing beside his father in the demanding work of building a stronger, more independent Nigeria.
