Announcements for Sunday, 29 March, 2026.
Absence from office: The parish priest will not be in the office on Tuesday, 31 March and Tuesday, 07 April. Official matters should be presented the following week.

Deepening of Faith class: This is to remind all catechumen who received their first Holy Communion last year, 2025, and who ate less than 12 years of age, that the Deepening of Faith class holds today. Time: 11am – 12 Noon. Venue: Ground Floor Hall. Parents are hereby informed that this is not confirmation class.

Acies Ceremony: The Legion of Mary invites all legionaries, both Active and auxiliary, to her annual Acies ceremony holding today. Venue: Inside the Church Auditorium. Time: 2Pm.

Easter Confession: Parishioners are hereby informed that there will be Sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday, 31 march and Wednesday, 01 April. Time is 5.30pm – 6.15 pm on both days.

God’s Word 2026: Parishioners are hereby informed that God’s Word for 2026 is available for purchase in the parish bookshop. Please visit the parish bookshop and grab your copy; it is ₦7,000 per copy.

Musical Concert: The St. Francis Musical Concert tagged "Awesome Praise " with the theme "Soaring on Eagles Wings" (Is. 40: 31) is scheduled to hold on Friday 05 December, starting at 7PM. Parishioners are cordially invited to grace the occasion as it's a time to thank God for His mercies in 2025 while praying for many more in the New Year 2026, singing praises to God Almighty. Ministering are Gospel artistes from our Parish and beyond. Also, is our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Pius Ndekile, SJ and Rev. Fr. Saviour Edim. Kindly support this concert by purchasing T-shirts for yourself and loved ones at the rate of ₦6,000 each. See the Planning Committee outside beside the Harvest Stand for more details.

Christmas Carol: St. Parish Choir presents 2025 Christmas carol themed: “Starry Night of Delight”. Date: Sunday, 07 December. They call for financial support from well-meaning parishioners to help make it a night of joyful worship, heavenly music and celebration of Christ’s Light shining on us. Venue: Inside the church auditorium. Time: 4pm.

End of Year program: As the year gradually comes to an end, the parish will conclude the year of hope on Saturday, 13 December, 2025. It is a spirit filled program which enable us handover the remaining days of the year into God's hands and believe that he will do more. To prepare for this program, there will be confession on Friday, 12 December, 2025. Parishioners are encouraged to participate actively and await for God’s goodness.

Unusual Praise 2025: This annual event comes up Friday, 12 December, at (TBS) Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos. Time: 5pm. The theme for this year is Bless The Lord... Oh My Soul. Admission into the venue is free, but registration is required. For further enquiry, please see Mrs Queen Peter or Mrs Nwokeji Juliet.

Christmas sharing: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is sincerely grateful to every parishioner who donated, in cash and in kind, towards making last year’s Christmas sharing to the needy and poor in our community a success.
And now, Christmas is approaching again, and the Society still needs to reach out to the poor/needy and less privileged in our community. Cash donations and food items will be greatly appreciated.
Any parishioner who desires to make donations can do so at the parish office or at their meeting venue beside the Parish Office on Sundays. Society’s account details are boldly written on the St. Vincent de Paul boxes. Thank you.

Appreciation: On behalf of the Pastoral Team, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Parish Councillors, the Fundraising Committee, the 2025 Harvest Planning Committee, and entire parishioners of St. Francis Catholic Church, Idimu, for a successful Harvest of Abundant grace. May God replenish you in manifolds, through Christ our Lord.

SOLEMNITY OF CHRIST THE KING: Parishioners are reminded that today is Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe. There are only Two Masses today, 6.30am & 9am; procession will begin immediately after the 9am Mass where we all proclaim Christ as King. We are all encouraged to take active part in this celebration. Please note that there will be no evening Mass today.

This is to inform parishioners that there will be only one mass on Sunday 16th November, 2025. This is due to the harvest and bazaar on that day and there will be no evening mass.

God’s Word 2026: Parishioners are hereby informed that God’s Word for 2026 is available for purchase in the parish bookshop. Please visit the parish bookshop and grab your copy; it is ₦7,000 per copy.

2025 Harvest/Bazaar: Parishioners are encouraged to wait after Mass for the harvest bazaar sales which will commence immediately after Mass so as to take full participation and donate generously; food and funfair is been provided for children. Also note that there shall be no evening Mass today.

2025 Safeguarding Seminar: This is to remind parishioners that the safeguarding seminar will take place on Saturday, 08 November, 2025, at 10am. It is an educative and impactful program, and this year's topic is centred on: Safeguarding in the Church: Boundary Setting. Venue: is the Ground Floor Hall.

Those to attend are: CMO, CWO & CYON - (50 persons each) Association of the Sacred Heart of Jesus/Immaculate Heart of Mary, Catholic Charismatic Renewal, Ave Maria Group & Legion of Mary - (20 persons each), other societies not mentioned above - (10 persons each) Facilitator: Child Protection Officer of the Society of Jesus, North West Africa Province. St. Francis of Assisi... Sustaining a healthy home for all!!!

2025 CYON Trade Fair: This CYON annual event continues today here in the parish. Parishioners are encouraged to visit their stands and patronize them.

Vacancy: Security Officers and Porters are needed for immediate employment. Candidates must possess minimum qualification of SSCE. Interested persons should submit their CV and application letter to the parish office within one week of this announcement.

Parish Laity Council meeting: The Parish Laity Council meeting for the month of October will hold today immediately after the 8.30am Mass at the usual venue. All Councillours are expected to be in attendance.

All Saints & All Souls’ Day: Parishioners are reminded that Saturday 01 November, is Solemnity of All Saints, hence, a holy day of obligation. There shall be just one Mass at 7am.
Also, next Sunday, 02 November, is Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed (All Souls); there shall be the regular Sunday Masses at 6.30am, 8.30am, 10.30am and 5pm.

The October 20, 2020 Massacre: CYON St. Francis invites the Parish to this event in Memorial of those that died at the Lekki Toll Gate during the END-SARS protest which held across the nation that year. Prayers for their repose will begin with the 6.30pm Mass tomorrow Monday, 20 October, and will continue with a rosary procession and other prayers in the Parish Hall. For God and for Youth! Through Christ!!!
