David Silva showed why he’s one of the best players in the Premier League this afternoon, as he put Man City 1-0 up against Man United at the Etihad.

The Spaniard picked up the ball around 8 yards from goal following some fine work from Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling, as the Spaniard showed superb composure to take the ball down and fire past David De Gea.

City are currently unbeaten in the Premier League so far this season, and Silva’s goal has just helped them in their attempts to keep up this streak with his goal today.

Here’s a clip of Silva’s goal this afternoon. Cool as a cucumber!

BARCELONA will face off against Real Betis in La Liga today. Here is Express.co.uk's guide to live streaming all the action online.

Barcelona will take on Real Betis at the Nou Camp this afternoon as they look to strengthen their lead at the top of La Liga.

The Spanish giants began the day at the top of La Liga with a three point gap on second-placed Espanyol.

It remains to be seen if Barca star Lionel Messi could feature against Betis.

Messi trained with the rest of the Barcelona squad on Thursday as he makes a comeback from a broken arm.

Messi missed Barca’s midweek 1-1 draw in the Champions League with Inter Milan.

Speaking after the game, Barca boss Ernesto Valverde said: β€œIt was a decision shared by the team.

β€œWe couldn't risk Messi. We wanted him to train with the team but training isn't the same as playing.

β€œWe were careful in training, but we knew that today's match would be like how it was with the intensity that there was.

β€œYou do not know what can happen and we didn't want to take risks. We talked to him about it and he understood.”

Paulo Dybala Explains What Lionel Messi Means To Him

Juventus striker Paulo Dybala has revealed what FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi means to him.

Dybala, 24, is currently one of the best young attackers in Europe, something that was once said of Messi, who made his senior Blaugrana debut in 2004.

The Juventus forward has admitted that, although he has always looked up to Ronaldinho, his countryman Messi is like Diego Maradona for him.

"I've always admired Ronaldinho but Messi is like Maradona for me," he told France Football.

"It's an honour to play alongside him in the national team.

"I don't feel the pressure of being the new Messi, it's not a bad thing for a footballer, it only depends on how you take it."

Dybala has scored 14 goals and assisted a further two strikes in 18 games for the Bianconeri so far this season.

Do you think Dybala can reach Messi's level? Let us know in the comments section below.

Lionel Messi names 3 players that can rival him and Ronaldo for the Ballon d'Or

Lionel Messi..

When the curtains closed on the 2016-17 campaign, you'd be mistaken for thinking Cristiano Ronaldo had this year's Ballon d'Or sewn up, but Lionel Messi has given voters a serious dilemma.

While Ronaldo will likely remain the favourite come New Year, there's no debating who has emerged from the summer in better form and that player resides in Barcelona.

Messi has been handed a new lease of life in the false nine position that made him unstoppable under Pep Guardiola and already boasts 18 goals and four assists this season.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has very much personified the difficult spell Real Madridfind themselves in right now.

Los Blancos are a distant ten points behind their fierce rivals in the La Liga standings and their star man - who started the season with a lengthly ban - has just one league goal to his name so far.

Even then, in terms of 2016-17, Messi was vindicated for his goal scoring exploits when he collected the European Golden Shoe this week as the continent's finest finisher.

It saw the 30-year-old appear in front of the press and although he refused to talk about his unexpectedly complicated future, he gave an intriguing interview to Marca.

He spoke about his relationship with Ronaldo and when asked whether he'll be friends with CR7 in the future, he hypothesised: "I don't know if we will be. Friendship is built through spending time together and getting to know eachother.

οΏΌ

"We have no relationship, mainly because we only see eachother at awards ceremonies and that's the only time we speak. Everything is fine, but our lives don't cross over very often."

Both Messi and Ronaldo continue to prove themselves as the best two players in the world, but the time will come when somebody ends their epoch of dominance in the Ballon d'Or.

It's difficult to pinpoint exactly who that will be but Messi has three pl

Chelsea Team News: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs Crystal Palace
goal.com Thursday, October 12, 2017 08:15
Everything you need to know ahead of the Premier League clash at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon

Chelsea are heading to a London derby after the international break as they travel to bottom of the table Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Palace haven't scored a goal yet this season and have zero points on the board with Roy Hodgson hoping to end their dismal run of bad form this season.

Antonio Conte's side have picked up a number injuries lately and were recently well beaten by Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. However, it is still a huge ask for Palace to come away from this match against the Premier League champions with any points.

CHELSEA INJURIES
Alvaro Morata is almost certain to miss out against Palace on Saturday as he recovers from a hamstring injury. The striker is in contention to make the weekday fixture against AS Roma but his condition is being continually monitored.

N'Golo Kante has torn a muscle in his thigh which will see him out for a number of weeks as the Blues face being without a player who has been ever-present for over a year.

Danny Drinkwater is still doubtful, although he is nearing full recovery from a calf injury. Chelsea have otherwise come out of the international break unscathed.

Baba Rahman remains at Stamford Bridge but isn't part of the club's Premier League or European squad due to a knee injury. He is expected to return in late October or early November.

CHELSEA SUSPENSIONS
Chelsea have no suspensions for the match against Palace as David Luiz returns from a three match ban after getting sent off against Arsenal a month ago.

He also suffered a fractured wrist during that match against the Gunners but has continued full training and can play through the injury for his side's upcoming matches.

POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP
David Luiz is likely to return for Andreas Christensen who has been deputising in h
