COURTESY VISIT BY WEF ASEAN PRESIDENT TO THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF BERNAMA

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 August 2025 – The President of the Women Economic Forum (WEF) ASEAN, YBhg. Datin Dr. Hajah Hartini Osman, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA), YBhg. Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, in a session held at Wisma BERNAMA at 4:00 PM.

The session began with a welcoming speech by Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida, who warmly received the delegation from WEF ASEAN and Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK). In her remarks, the WEF ASEAN President expressed her deepest appreciation to BERNAMA for their strategic cooperation and unwavering support throughout the WEF ASEAN 2025 programme, which was held from 19 to 21 June 2025.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions and leadership in the field of media and mass communication, Datin Dr. Hartini presented the WEF ASEAN 2025 “Women of The Decade” Award to Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida.

The session also included a discussion between BERNAMA, YBK, and YBCare focusing on potential strategic collaborations, particularly in the areas of information dissemination, advocacy, and community programmes, with a special emphasis on women empowerment.

The senior management team of BERNAMA who were present included Acting Deputy Editor-in-Chief of News Services; Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Economic News Services; Head of Management Services and Finance; Head of Commercial; Head of Radio; Head of TV; and Head of Corporate Affairs.

Accompanying the WEF ASEAN and YBK delegation were YBhg. Dato’ Dr. (h.c.) Haji Zainal Abidin Sakom, Chairman of YBK; members of the WEF ASEAN 2025 Advisory Board – Datin Dr. Norli Hj Alias, Datin Dr. Hasnorliza Binti Abu Hassan, and Ms. Siti Khadijah Ariffin; as well as Mr. Muhammad Sherhan Nizam Abdul Aziz, General Manager of YBK.

COURTESY VISIT BY WEF ASEAN PRESIDENT TO THE VICE-CHANCELLOR OF UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA

UPM SERDANG, 1 August 2025 – The President of the Women Economic Forum ASEAN, YBhg. Datin Dr. (h.c.) Hartini Osman, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia, YBhg. Dato' Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, at the Canselori PUTRA Building, UPM.

The visit was held to present the WEF ASEAN 2025 Leaders of the Decade award to him, along with a briefing on the findings and resolutions from the WEF ASEAN 2025 programme. Also discussed was the potential for strategic collaborations with UPM, a long-standing strategic partner that has been supporting the initiatives of Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) since 1990.

Present during the courtesy visit were YBhg. Dato' Dr. (h.c.) Haji Zainal Abidin Sakom (Chairman of YBK); YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad (ALPA YBK and Director of the Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre, UPM); members of the WEF ASEAN 2025 Advisory Board – Datin Dr. Norli Hj Alias, Datin Dr. Hasnorliza Binti Abu Hassan, and Ms. ⁠Shikha Kedia Bharadwaj; and Mr. Muhammad Sherhan Nizam Abdul Aziz (General Manager of YBK).

YBK was the co-organiser of the WEF ASEAN 2025 programme, which was held from 19 to 21 June 2025.

COURTESY VISIT BY WEF ASEAN PRESIDENT TO THE AMBASSADOR OF THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT TO MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 July 2025 – The President of the Women Economic Forum (WEF) ASEAN, YBhg. Datin Dr. (h.c.) Hartini Osman, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Karim Elsadat, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Malaysia and Brunei, at the Embassy of Egypt here.

The visit was held to formally present the WEF ASEAN 2025 'Legendary Women of the Decade' award to The Honorable Ms. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as to share key insights from the recently concluded WEF ASEAN 2025 programme.

Also discussed during the meeting were strategic collaborations in poverty eradication and community wellbeing initiatives through Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) and Yayasan Bina Kesejahteraan (YBCare) in Egypt and other regional African nations, particularly in the areas of knowledge-sharing, entrepreneurial training, and women’s leadership development.

Also present during the visit were Ms. Fatma Al Zahraa Hassan (Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt) and Mr. Muhammad Sherhan Nizam Abdul Aziz (General Manager of YBK).

COURTESY VISIT BY WEF ASEAN PRESIDENT TO DIRECTOR OF ASEAN ECONOMIC INTEGRATION DIVISION, MINISTRY OF INVESTMENT, TRADE AND INDUSTRY

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 July 2025 – The President of the Women Economic Forum – WEF ASEAN, YBhg. Datin Dr. (h.c.) Hartini Osman, paid a courtesy visit today to YBrs. Dr. Sugumari S. Shanmugam, Senior Director of the ASEAN Economic Integration Division, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

The visit was held to convey appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the Advisory Board and Secretariat of WEF ASEAN 2025 to MITI’s top management for their strong support and active collaboration in the successful implementation of WEF ASEAN 2025.

YBrs Dr. Sugumari expressed that the WEF ASEAN 2025 programme is one of the outstanding and successful initiative co-organised with MITI, receiving highly postive feedback from various stakeholders. She congratulated Yayasan Bina Kesejahteraan (YBCare) and Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) as the organisers.
