Throwback to 11 August 2023.
Two teams from INTI had been enter to the final stage of the Glodon 5D BIM competition 2023. The good news is one of our team have won and placed as 1st runner up!
Glodon 5D BIM competition is a competition organised by Glodon Malaysia. The Contest aims to identify the Building Information Modelling (“BIM”) application for Quantity Surveying (“QS”) profession in Malaysia construction industry. Promoting effectiveness and efficiency with 5D BIMtechnology application in the industry. Modelling the recommended practices and lead the industry with innovative change towards greater BIM implementation.
There are total 3 stages in the competition.
1️⃣The first stage will have given a non-complete Revit file and complete set of instruction from organizer, the participants of each team needed to complete the Revit file using TAS and TRB software in order to extract the best accurate quantity. Then, taking-off the quantities to TBQ.
2️⃣Stage two, we are required to prepare a BIM Ex*****on Plan report. Which is including the project introduction, BIM process design, technology insfrasturcture needs, project deliverables and outputs, and so on. We need to done this report base on the information that we have done in the stage one. At the same time, we also need to prepare a presentation slides of the BIM Ex*****on Plan and online present to the judges through ZOOM to show our competence and thorough understanding to BIM Ex*****on Plan.
3️⃣Last but not least, we need to prepare a value engineering plan towards the building provided and a walk-through video of the done Revit file at the final stage. On the day of the game, we need to complete the hands-on task given on the spot in order to complete the whole competition programme.
End of the day, the contest well covered all the components of Cubicost Software. The participants equipped themselves with both hard and soft skills which allowed them to bring the motions and spirits to industry in future.
