Festa San Pedro (Feast of Saint Peter, also known as Feast of Fishermen) in the Portuguese Settlement, Malacca, is celebrated on 29 June every year. Being a community that were traditionally fishermen, this particular Catholic Feast Day has resonated strongly among the locals. l festival is organised by the JKKK Portuguese Settlement. Each year, the highlight of the Festa begins with Mass (Worship Service) at the seafront followed by a procession and blessings of the fishermen's boats, where some of the boats are decorated for competition based on originality, creativity, cleanliness and religious aspects. The Carnival ambience engulfing the Festa enhances the experience of the uniqueness of the Festa in the Portuguese Settlement. Visitors will have the chance to try the Malacca Portuguese authentic food which is only served during the Festa. Seasons Traditional Village Games such as sea games, stage and land games, field games are taken up by the veterans and the young ones. These games are also participated by tourists and visitors. To further entertain, feast your eyes and ears on the cultural performances, stage performances and Live Band performances which are scheduled in the evenings daily. This year, celebrations begin on 29th June 2017 right up to 2 nd July 2017. The 4 day celebration starts at 10.00am till 12.00am daily making alive the culture of the Portuguese descendants in Malacca.
