Jobstreet by SEEK MCTF 2026 officially debuted in Johor Bahru on 25 and 26 April 2026, attracting 11,663 visitors and bringing together more than 50 exhibitors offering over 10,000 job opportunities at Mid Valley Southkey.
Participating employers represented industries including banking, manufacturing, technology, retail, construction, business process outsourcing (BPO), and professional services, reflecting Johorโs growing role as an emerging talent and investment hub amid rising economic momentum in the southern region.
The event was officiated by Datuk William Ng, Organising Chairman of MCTF, Nicholas Lam, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK Malaysia, and Encik Hilmy Hussain, Chief Coordinator of the Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC).
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Datuk William said Johor is entering a new phase of economic transformation driven by rising investments and growing regional confidence. โWe are witnessing a rebirth of Malaysiaโs branding on the global stage,โ he said.
He added that Johorโs rapid rise is creating more high value career opportunities, particularly in sectors such as electronics, aerospace, and data centres. โFor our job seekers today, my message is simple: you no longer have to leave home to find a world class career.โ
Nicholas Lam said the expansion into Johor reflects a shared commitment to bringing career opportunities closer to Malaysians across different regions.
โWe believe that every Malaysian can find a meaningful career,โ he said.
Encik Hilmy Hussain stressed the growing urgency to strengthen local talent development as investment momentum accelerates across Johor. According to him, while Johor currently has more than 20,000 job vacancies, the number of qualified candidates matching industry needs remains significantly lower.
He stressed that there is an immediate need to bridge the talent gap to ensure Johorโs workforce remains ready to meet evolving industry demands.
Beyond recruitment, the event also reinforced MCTFโs broader role in supporting workforce readiness by bringing together employers, institutions, and job seekers to strengthen talent development, upskilling, and career access.
Throughout the two day event, visitors connected directly with recruiters, attended employer sharing sessions, received resume guidance, and explored opportunities from both Malaysian and Singapore linked employers.
Organised by AIC Exhibitions Sdn Bhd in partnership with Jobstreet by SEEK, the Johor Bahru edition marks MCTFโs expansion into the southern region after being organised together for the past 2 decades.
