Gas and LNG still play a vital role in the energy transition journey and it depends on how the public and private sectors create a balanced ecosystem between suppliers and consumers.

At 2025, Wael Sawan, CEO of called for consistent policy support to unlock investment in lower-carbon solutions, warning that uncertainty could stall progress on decarbonisation. Yukio Kani, Global CEO and Chair of , highlighted the market gap, noting that green fuels like ammonia remain costly. He stressed the need for short-term government support, while long-term success depends on industry collaboration and end-user willingness to pay the green premium.
