Good morning everyone!
Wow! What a perfect way to end the night with a beautiful Music Sharing Session by indie musicians Anna Chong, Tangerine Wong, Yi Fen Tan specially flown-in from KL & our locally-based Monday's String Quartet. Thank you Virama Malaysia for giving us this opportunity to collaborate with you to bring these musicians over.
Big thanks to the near 2400 audience and visitors who came in droves over the weekend, further affirming that in Kota Kinabalu & the greater area of Sabah has already gained a strong foothold in our community, and it will keep on growing.
Thank you Pitapat Theatre with your collaboration to premiere Shan Puppet Theatre (Taiwan) entertaining the audience with traditional Chinese cloth puppetry & live music accompaniment at , and for being our inaugural Performance Night with your original play "EAT".
Kudos to the 29 Artisans, 20 New & Emerging artists and the 4 special artists (Teo Zye Keun, Harold Eswar, Louis Pang & Andy Chia) who gave us their time to inspire at their sharing sessions, you are the very reason to visit The Art Factory. Keeping with this year's theme, we hope you continue to "Stay Hungry & Stay Foolish" and keep on reaching for the stars in your craft.
Events like this will forever be embedded in the annals of history via documentation. Thank you to our volunteer photographers Lee Han Wei, Bernard Tiu, Omar Willie and Eric (Marksmen) for capturing these special moments. Not to forget, Flanegan Bainon for documenting in video for us this year. We look forward to see the memorable images in the near future.
Without volunteers, we would have no sleep for 3 days straight. Thank you to the volunteers who have responded to our "Call to Arms", and helped us out tremendously in the daily tasks & the daily transformation from day market to night performance.
The biggest effort comes from 4 special persons. They are none other than our CAD TEAM. They are Kah Yee (gallery & project coordinator), Deanna & Jesse (gallery & project assistants) and Azria (gallery intern). Without your near-sleepless nights over the past 3 months, this would not have been possible. Your diligence in chasing after every detail, grasping every opportunity, and tenacity to succeed is a true inspiration for all those who fear the impossible. You started off with already high standards, and now you have set a new benchmark for success. Our next TAF challenge will be to dream bigger and keep battling the unknowns!
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
SuChung
