π Meet Aleem Siddiqui Matabalao Guiapal β Championing the Philippine Halal Economy
We are honoured to welcome Aleem Siddiqui Matabalao Guiapal, a global advocate for inclusive economic development and a driving force behind the advancement of the Philippine Halal Ecosystem.
From serving as Head of Investment Promotions at the DTI Halal Industry Development Office (2023β2025) to leading the Halal-Friendly Philippines campaign and major international trade missions, Aleem has played a pivotal role in positioning the Philippines as an emerging force in the global Halal market.
His leadership of the recent Philippine trade mission to Saudi Arabia generated an impressive USD 105.7 million in trade and revenue sales, marking one of the largest delegations in Philippine history.
With over 15 years of government service, Aleem has held key leadership positions including Deputy Director General for Finance and Administration, Assistant Cabinet Secretary, and Executive Director. He also serves as the Philippine Chapter President of the Global Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Trade.
π A FulbrightβHubert H. Humphrey Fellow in Economic Development at Michigan State University, Aleem was also a Visiting Researcher at American University in Washington, D.C., where he authored the policy paper βUS-ASEAN Initiative in Developing the Halal Industry in the Philippines.β
He holds a Master in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management as an ADB Scholar and completed Executive Education in Cross Border Trade at the National University of Singapore.
