Family time is Quality time
While technology may have changed our lives for the better, sadly it is led
to growing family discord. Parents are becoming increasingly career
minded while children are caught up in a time warp where everything
that revolves around their lives, from dusk to dawn, is technology related -
from smart phones to tablets, and from computer games to social media (faceboo
k, youtube). It is an undeniable fact that although many families live together under one roof, sadly, they lead separate lives. And that’s a reality. My Run is all about bringing families together, sharing quality time and strengthening family values. It’s about parents and children rediscovering one another as they participate in a fun-filled event, away from the workplace and electronic gadgets that tend to control and dominate our lives. We have invited some children from an orphanage to participate in the run with the objective of helping families realize how lucky they are to have their loved ones with them instead of distancing themselves with each other through their uncaring ways.
