The vibrant streets of Johor Bahru came alive with the Johor Run x JB Neon Run, marking the 30th Anniversary of Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru (MBJB) on 22 November 2024 at Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru.

Starting at Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru, the event featured three categories: 5KM and 10KM JB Neon Runs, and a 21KM Half Marathon. Organized by MBJB, Majlis Sukan Negeri Johor (MSNJ), and KPRJ Sports Sdn Bhd (KSSB), it attracted nearly 2,000 runners from 10 countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Kenya.

The flag-off ceremony was officiated by Yang Berhormat Tuan Mohd Hairi bin Md Shah, Chairman of the Johor State Youth, Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee; Yang Berhormat Dato’ Haji Mohd Noorazam bin Dato’ Haji Osman, Mayor of Johor Bahru; Yang Berhormat Dato’ Haji Onn bin Jabbar@Jaafar, Deputy State Secretary (Sports, Youth and Volunteers); Yang Berbahagia Tuan Haji Ahmad Nazir bin Haji Mohd Nasir, Johor Bahru District Officer; Yang Berbahagia Tuan Ts. Mohd Ekmaluddin bin Dato’ Ishak, Director of Johor State Sports Council; and Yang Berbahagia Encik Zainal Abidin bin Zakaria, Chief Operating Officer of KPRJ. Supported by strategic partners such as the Johor State Government, Decathlon, and Thistle Hotel, participants enjoyed an electrifying atmosphere filled with neon lights and music.

Runners and spectators also participated in other activities, including aerobic sessions, booths, and lucky draws, creating a festive celebration for all. The excitement continued with the JB Tower Run on 23 November, where participants conquered 15 levels of Menara MBJB.

This extraordinary event not only showcased Johor Bahru’s community spirit but also placed the city on the global map.

The Johor Monsoon Trail 2024 (JMT24), took place on 9th November 2004 at the scenic Tanjung Balau Desaru, Johor. This event organised by Holeshot Motowear Sdn Bhd and co-organised by KPRJ Sports Sdn Bhd marking an exhilarating day for motorsport fans.

JMT24 showcased intense motocross action with enduro and dual-purpose categories along the beautiful Desaru Beach Trail, attracting riders and fans from across the region.

The event was honored by the presence of the distinguished guests, including Yang Berhormat Dato’ Dennis Muhammad Abdullah; Yang Berbahagia Tuan Haji Miswan bin Yunus, District Officer of Kota Tinggi; Yang Berhormat Dato’ Lukman bin Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of KPRJ; Yang Berbahagia Tuan Haji Ts. Mohd Johari bin Tarmidi, President of Pengerang Municipal Council; Yang Berbahagia Tuan Haji Muhammad Shahril Azizi bin Abd Gapar, Land Administrator of Kota Tinggi; Yang Berbahagia Puan Marlina binti Amir, Deputy General Manager (Coordination) of KEJORA.

With over 350 participants from 6 nations and an estimated 500 visitors, the event brought together a dynamic mix of riders, spectators and families.

Through this successful debut, KPRJ Sports Sdn Bhd showcased its commitment to delivering diverse and high-energy sporting events that enhance Johor’s appeal as a premier sports tourism destination.

The MPL Malaysia Season 14 Playoffs x Southern Festival was successfully held from 31 October to 3 November at the Educity Sports Complex in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru. Organised by MOONTON Games and KPRJ Sports Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary under KPRJ, and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Esports Integrated (ESI), and the Malaysia Electronic Sports Federation (MESF), this historic event marked the first MPL Playoffs outside Klang Valley.

This season’s title was claimed by Selangor Red Giants, who emerged victorious from among Malaysia’s top teams, securing a spot to represent the nation at the upcoming M6 World Championship.

The Grand Finals were graced by esteemed guests, Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Chief Minister of Johor, Tn. Adam Adli Abd Halim, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister of Higher Education, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Hj Azmi Rohani, Johor State Secretary, Mohd Hairi Md Shah, Chairman of the Johor State Youth, Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee, Dato’ Lukman Abu Bakar, CEO of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor, and Tuan Haji Ts. Mohd Ekmaluddin Dato’ Ishak, Director of Johor State Sports Council.

Alongside the Playoffs, the Southern Festival added a vibrant touch with a food festival by Foodelicious featuring over 100 stalls, live music, cooking demos, workshops, and family-friendly activities. Congratulations to Selangor Red Giants and everyone who made this event a success!
