PARTICIPATING EVENTS 🌍

The Big Wave Alliance is a collaboration of surf competitions uniting to qualify the top performers for a final Big Wave World Championship event. The goal of the Alliance is to crown the elite men’s and women’s world champions in a live contest environment, garnering exposure and prestigious to the sport of big wave surfing.

Each participating big wave event will retain its distinctive format and criteria for selecting winners, preserving their unique formats and respecting local traditions of competition.

🌊 BIG WAVE ALLIANCE — Uniting Global Big Wave Events to Crown World Champions

The Big Wave Alliance is a collaboration of surf competitions uniting to qualify the top performing surfers for a final BIG WAVE GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP event. The goal of the Alliance is to crown the elite men’s and women’s world champions in a live big wave contest, garnering exposure and prestigious to the sport. The Big Wave Alliance will serve as an umbrella collaboration, linking together various big wave surfing events that qualify their top surfers for the Big Wave Grand Championship.

Participating events maintain autonomy with their diverse formats and traditions. Each individual event will maintain its unique format and criteria for selecting winners. The top male and female surfer from each participating event will be invited to compete in an ultimate showdown at a designated international venue to crown the sport’s world champions.

By creating a centralized platform that promotes existing big wave events from around the world, the Big Wave Alliance aims to unify the global big wave surfing community. The Big Wave Grand Championship is designed to unite the top athletes, encourage progression, and celebrate the highest level of the sport by crowning the world champions.
