"When an Ironman distance Triathlon is not enough"
Thanks to my beautiful & strong 70.3 Ironman girlfriend who was there for me all the time before, during and after my race. We conquered this record together!
How I discovered what was an Ultra Triathlon?
In March of 2014, I met in person Wayne Kurtz (Guinness World Record of 30 x 140.6) He completed this record on September 8, 2013.
Wayne shared part of this epic Ultra race where only 25 Ultra Athletes qualified. In order to qualify they needed to have completed a 10 x 140.6 in official Ultra Triathlon.
From those 25 Ultra Triathles, only 8 finished the 30 x 140.6 completing the longest Ultra race in human history with a total of:
76k Swim + 3,600k Bike + 840k Run
Total of 4,520 kilometers in 30 consecutive days in an official race.. This is the longest official Ultra Race in History.
When I met Wayne in 2014, I completed few weeks ago a 70.3 Triathlon on Saturday, I went partying after, slept only about 3 hours then next day on Sunday I completed LA Marathon pacing a friend.
Wayne after hearing this he told me you are ready.
I completed my 1st 140.6 in Ocala Florida on April 2, 2017.
I believe "MENTAL PREPARATION" is the most important part of the training to complete this Double Ironman Distance Triathlon.
My next Ultra Triathlon events that are planning are:
Ultra Triathlon Brazil 🇧🇷
June 2023
Ultra Triathlon Mexico 🇲🇽
October 2023
Completing my 1st ULTRA TRIATHLON in Mexico was a great experience! Race director Beto Villa and his wife were very encouraging and helping in every way, all the staff, volunteers and cheerleaders, Monico who was providing me support, Gerardo Galvan who offered me advice and recommended me Monico for support, Carlos Pena who completed 10 x 140.6 and even he was completing his race he was very encouraging and took time to talk to me and others during this race, Shanda Hill Ultra Athlete who was always so positive and saying words of motivation every time we crossed each other, Enrique from Mexico who completed 3 x 140.6 and was always a great friend at the race. So many great people there! And the beautiful people of Manuel Doblado, Leon, Guanajato, Mexico 🇲🇽 that welcomed with their warm hospitality.
Challenges make us stronger!
I'll be back!
