Blue Water World Cup Invitational Spearfishing Championships Sport fish, spearfish, and fly fish both side of Baja: Our resort on the Sea of Cortez and at our outpost on Magdalena Bay Island.

prestigious blue water spearfishing tournament started in 2006 by
Dennis Haussler. Elite spearos from all over the world compete in a 3 dive
day format that involves very selective spearing of pelagic species. Wahoo, AmberJack, Dorado, Roosterfish, Marlin and Tuna, are the
target species

The 2026 Blue Water World Cup brought incredible spearfishing, fun competition, and an amazing community together at Palapas Ventana!

Celebrating 20 years of this Southern Baja Tournament, this year’s event raised more than $3,800 USD for our local Montessori school. A huge thank you to every diver, captain, sponsor, and supporter who made it another unforgettable year on the Sea of Cortez.

Countdown: Two Months Left.

Blue Water World Cup is about more than competition. A portion of tournament proceeds goes toward improving local parks and supporting projects that benefit the La Ventana community.

Over the years, tournament support has helped improve local public spaces, including “Los Buzos” Park. Our goal for 2026 is to contribute $3,000 USD back into our local community through this event.

Every diver, sponsor, and supporter helps us grow the tournament while also giving something meaningful back. 🌊
