𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗦 — 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧
Over the past days, a number of public statements and allegations concerning Darkside Records have circulated across social media.
As a company, we will not conduct disputes through personal attacks, emotional arguments, or social-media escalation.
𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘: 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗦, 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗦, 𝗗𝗢𝗖𝗨𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗖𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦.
𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗔 𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦.
Darkside Records operates through written agreements and makes real financial, production, promotional, distribution, and operational investments in the projects it undertakes.
Those commitments are contractual. They apply to both parties.
1 - 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗬𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦
One allegation that has circulated concerns artists supposedly paying money to Darkside Records for services that were allegedly not delivered.
Let us be completely clear.
𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗕𝗬 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟 𝗢𝗥 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦.
If any artist or band claims that they paid Darkside Records for a service, commitment, release, production, promotion, or any other obligation, we invite them to show the evidence publicly.
𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗜𝗖𝗘.
𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗬𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗙.
𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗙𝗘𝗥.
𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗢𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡.
We are prepared to review any genuine evidence.
Our records do not show such a payment under our standard artist agreements.
𝗦𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗙 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘: 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗜𝗧.
The same principle applies to alleged performance fees: any payment obligation must be assessed against the actual agreement signed by the parties.
2 - 𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 / 𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗢
Regarding the shows organized through Metal Station " Egypt" and Metal Over Cairo, Darkside Records has records showing payments made for six shows, together with event-related production expenses.
We also have the corresponding quotations and estimates related to these events, including the amounts in USD, together with the documentation supporting the expenses incurred.
One final payment remains pending due to the international payment process and the difficulties encountered when transferring funds into Egypt.
This is not a new process.
𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗪𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗛 𝗣𝗔𝗬𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚.
The process has previously involved delays because international transfers, USD availability, banking procedures, and payment processing cannot simply be controlled by the company.
Nevertheless:
𝗪𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗬𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦.
The relevant payment records, quotations, USD amounts, and supporting documentation are available.
Presenting a payment that is currently being processed as a deliberate refusal to pay does not reflect the complete situation.
3 - 𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗤𝗨𝗨𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗦 & 𝗟𝗨𝗗𝗨𝗦 𝗨𝗠𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗨𝗠
There are matters where we acknowledge that issues occurred.
With Antiquus Infestus and Ludus Umbrarum, delays and difficulties did occur.
𝗪𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪𝗟𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠.
In particular, we publicly acknowledge and publically apologize for the delays experienced by Antiquus Infestus and Ludus Umbrarum.
Darkside Records remains fully open to discussing these situations directly and professionally.
However, there should be no misunderstanding regarding the contractual and financial position.
Darkside Records has already invested money, production resources, promotional resources, technical work, distribution resources, and management time into these projects.
𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗗𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗕𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗡𝗢 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗨𝗘.
We are open to finding an agreement.
But any request to recover, transfer, or exploit music outside the existing contractual framework must first address the documented investments, contractual rights, and obligations of the parties.
𝗪𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗨𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡. 𝗪𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗦.
4 - 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗦
The Catharsis project involved an exceptionally demanding production process.
The material required extensive work before it could reach a professionally releasable standard.
Darkside Records carried out repeated revisions, mixing and mastering work, technical corrections, studio exchanges, engineering work, and extensive project management.
𝗔𝗦 𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧, 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗦 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗫𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗬 𝗧𝗪𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧.
A significant amount of time and resources were required to address the technical and production problems encountered throughout the process.
We have kept the relevant communications, revisions, technical exchanges, production records, and financial documentation.
The public allegations made by Catharsis concerning Darkside Records will therefore not be addressed through social-media arguments.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗦𝗘𝗟, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗘, 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗖𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘.
5 - 𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗬𝗔, 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗢𝗫 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗢𝗥𝗬 & 𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗚𝗛
Darkside Records disputes the public allegations made in relation to these projects.
In our records, the contractual commitments undertaken by the label were performed and, in several respects, exceeded.
With Anemoya and Galloglaigh, discussions had already taken place regarding future projects, including the possibility of additional releases.
Where an artist no longer wishes to continue a contractual relationship, that matter can be addressed professionally.
However, any termination remains subject to the applicable contractual terms, including documented investments, rights, obligations, and costs already incurred.
𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗬 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗.
6 - 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗧
The Pretext situation was materially different.
PRETEXT entered into a promotion agreement under which the band retained distribution rights. Darkside Records committed promotional resources while the commercial distribution structure remained outside the label's exclusive control.
We ultimately chose not to continue under a commercial structure we considered unsuitable and unfair.
We did not turn that disagreement into a public campaign.
We now consider it important that the contractual context be understood in full.
7 - 𝗗𝗨𝗦𝗞, 𝗠𝗬𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗦, 𝗛Ë𝗟𝗟𝗥𝗜𝗗Ë𝗥 & 𝗢𝗕𝗦𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗩𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 (DUSK, Mythos, Hëllridër , Obscured Violence)
There is one fundamental contractual fact that must be clearly understood.
According to our records, the music and materials required to initiate the contracted release work were not delivered by these artists within the contractual requirements and agreed timelines.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗢𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗘𝗫𝗘𝗖𝗨𝗧𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞.
A label cannot produce, mix, master, distribute, manufacture, promote, or release music it has not received.
Where an artist does not deliver the agreed material within the required period, the corresponding label work cannot simply be performed without that material.
This is the sequence documented by Darkside Records:
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗡.
𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗕𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞.
That is not the contractual history reflected in our records.
The situation is further complicated when an artist first fails to provide the required material within the contractual timeframe and subsequently claims that the label failed to complete the corresponding release obligations.
For each of these projects, we retain the signed agreement, the contractual delivery requirements, the agreed timelines, our follow-up communications, and the record of what was — and was not — delivered.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦.
The contractual delivery obligations remain in force according to the applicable agreements.
Furthermore, where a recording is subsequently created and released under an agreement granting Darkside Records applicable exclusive rights, release rights, or other contractual rights, Darkside Records will take the appropriate steps to enforce those rights.

8 - 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 & 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗦
Any recording covered by a valid agreement remains subject to the rights and obligations established by that agreement.
Where Darkside Records holds contractual rights over recordings, delivery obligations, exclusivity, exploitation, or release, those rights will be enforced through the appropriate contractual and legal channels.
Where applicable, music released elsewhere in breach of those rights may be subject to takedown requests through distributors, platforms, rights holders, and competent authorities.
Any negotiated termination will likewise be handled according to the relevant agreement and the documented obligations of the parties.

9 - 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦
Darkside Records respects legitimate criticism and the right of artists to raise genuine concerns.
There is, however, a clear distinction between criticism and the publication of false factual allegations capable of damaging a company's reputation, business relationships, or contractual interests.
Where statements are false and legally actionable, Darkside Records will document the publications, preserve the evidence, identify the persons involved, and refer the matter to legal counsel.

Darkside Records is legally registered in Morocco.
Our Commercial Registration number is RC 165117, and the company's registration can be verified through the official online services of the Moroccan Ministry of Justice.
Our website is currently offline because we are completing the integration of a new ticketing and event-management platform. The technical transition has also affected certain email services.
