"Labas vietas TALKA" is a brand new approach/tool for planning of public space in local scale and neighborhoods. The project begun in Riga during the European Capital of Culture and is been realized in 3 neighborhoods - Sarkandaugava (2013), Ziepniekkalns and Čiekurkalns in 2014. The aim of the project is to look at the culture as a way we think, act, behave and urban space, therefor to create new spatial participation traditions. The status of capital of culture gives an opportunity to establish new urban culture routines, behavioural and spatial traditions within a space in local scale. The project idea was initiated by two NGO coming together and linking the participatory methods of gaming ( Ideju Māja with Mārcis Rubenis) with local urban planning scale (Contemporary Architecture Information Center with Gunita Kulikovska). Team is open to share experiences and practices among wider audience and is searching for partners all along the world.
