Our After Expo brochure is now available in Japanese. 🇯🇵

500 copies have been printed and are currently being distributed to our partners and relevant stakeholders across Japan.

The brochure tells the story of the Luxembourg Pavilion after Expo 2025 Osaka: the numbers, the materials, and how so many elements of the Pavilion found a new purpose. ♻️

From the Pavilion exterior to the construction site. ♻️

The outer panels of the Luxembourg Pavilion are now fulfilling their next purpose.

After being carefully removed and transported to Shinko Kensetsu in Kyotanabe, they are now being used as concrete casting formwork panels, exactly as they were originally designed. 🔩

Before becoming part of the Pavilion, this was their original function, and now, they are back to doing what they were made to do, this time on an active construction site. 🏗️

A full circle, in the most literal sense.💓

The Péckvillercher 🐦 have landed in 🇯🇵!

During their visit to Luxembourg after Expo, our former Pavilion hosts had the chance to make their own Péckvillercher, little clay whistles in the form of a bird, in a workshop with Usch, a familiar face from Act 1 of the Pavilion. 💓

The little clay figures they made by hand have arrived now safely in Japan.

It is a small object, but it means a lot: a piece of Luxembourg craftsmanship, made together, now living in Japan.

That is the spirit in its simplest and most beautiful form. 🇯🇵

The doors of the Luxembourg Pavilion have found a new home. 🇱🇺

The interior and entrance doors, which once welcomed thousands of visitors into the world of the 🇱🇺 Pavilion, are now in Katano City, where they will be integrated into a community centre project. 🏗️

What guided people through the Pavilion's Acts will soon do the same for a local community in Japan. 💓

This is what looks like in practice: it’s not just materials finding a second life, but a little bit of finding its way into everyday spaces.

Some seeds planted at Expo take a little longer to show. 🌱

The trees and lower plants that once lined the exterior of the Luxembourg Pavilion have found a new home at 広報担当ひらたん運営：平田運輸株式会社.

And they welcomed some special visitors:

The former Deputy Foreign Minister, the local mayor, the police chief, and education officials came to see how the plantings and stones from the Pavilion's rainwater system have settled into their new surroundings.

The trees started their life cycle at the Luxembourg Pavilion plot…and now they keep growing near Hirata Express. 🇱🇺🇯🇵

Isn’t this a symbol for what Expo is really about?

Not just six months of exchange, but connections that continue to grow long after the doors close.

Our popular bowling alley has found a new home! 🎳

One of the most beloved spots in the Luxembourg Pavilion, where visitors would gather and compete, has now been reinstalled at the Suzuka Youth Center スズカト（三重県立鈴鹿青少年センター）in Japan.

Finally, the lanes, the pins and the balls are ready to bring people together again. 🇯🇵

Sometimes, a good place to gather does not need to be rebuilt from scratch… it just needs a new address. 💓

Another chapter closed. 📦

All the audiovisual material from the Luxembourg Pavilion has now been returned to BeWunder and is back in storage, ready for its next use.

Throughout Acts 1, 2 and 3, this equipment was at the heart of the Pavilion experience, giving visitors that feeling. 💓

The Pavilion was designed to leave as small a footprint as possible, and that thinking applied to every decision, not just the choice of materials.

Where possible, the team borrowed rather than bought. 🇱🇺

Now that the AV material is no longer needed at the Pavilion, it is available for someone else's next project. 💓

Last week, Luxembourg formally handed over the Pavilion plot to the organisers, the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition. 🇱🇺🇯🇵

The plot is empty now, and while only the Grand Ring remains visible in the background, the characteristic symbol of Expo 2025 will also be partially dismantled.

The project of the started years ago with a blank page and has now come full circle: from design to construction, through six months of the Expo, and a dismantling process that sees many elements of the Pavilion find new uses across Japan. 💓

Thank you to everyone who was part of this exciting journey called “Doki Doki – The Luxembourg Heartbeat”, in 🇱🇺 and 🇯🇵.

One year ago today, we opened the doors to the Luxembourg Pavilion. 🇱🇺

On 13 April 2025, visitors from around the world walked into the Expo 2025 Osaka site for the first time.

Six lively months of visits, conversations, connections and a lot of moments followed. 💓

The building of the 🇱🇺 Pavilion is gone, but the materials live on across Japan, and the memories stay with the people who came to visit us. 🇯🇵
