La réputation de Dudelange en tant que « capitale du jazz au
Luxembourg » est bien établie et incontestée. En 2012, avec le festival Like A Jazz Machine, le CCRD
opderschmelz a mis en marche un puissant générateur
d’énergie, de vision et d’atmosphère jazz. Pour cette
9e édition, CCRD opderschmelz et la Ville de Dudelange
organisent à nouveau une plateforme stimulante pour les
artistes, le p
ublic et les professionnels.
Après le grand succès des huit dernières éditions, Like A
Jazz Machine 2021 propose un voyage dans le monde du jazz
d’aujourd’hui, en mettant l’accent sur les nouvelles créations,
les talents émergents et les « crossovers » aventureux. 13
groupes, totalisant une soixantaine de musiciens, présenteront
leurs projets en cours pendant quatre jours dans le Grand
Auditoire du Centre Culturel Régional de Dudelange. De la tradition aux nouvelles tendances, le festival célèbre
le jazz sous toutes ses formes avec des « monstres sacrés »
tels que les batteurs Daniel Humair et Billy Cobham, ainsi
qu’un éventail de musiciens très estimés par les passionnés
de jazz, tels que Sylvain Rifflet, Théo Ceccaldi, Théo Girard,
Antoine Berjeaut ou encore Samuel Bl**er. Sans oublier les
nombreux « sidemen » : Valentin Ceccaldi, Guillaume Aknine,
Basile Naudet, Sebastian Rochford, Gautier Laurent, Jean-
Marc Robin, Verneri Pohjola, Benjamin Flament, Sandrine
Marchetti, Fifi Chayeb, Jean-Marie Ecay, Christophe Cravero
et Camelia Ben Naceur.
Ils se produiront sur scène aux côtés de groupes qui
recherchent l’insolite ou l’audace, tels que Hips Project de
Jean-Paul Bourelly et Gea Russell feat. Régis Molina, Llorenç
Barcelo Vives, Dani Dominuez et le Pilz - Reis - Dahm -
Martiny Quartet, qui sont deux des cinq résidences d’artistes
que le CCRD opderschmelz a initiées et facilitées pour cette
9e édition. Les trois autres résidences, que nous sommes
fiers de vous présenter, sont formées autour de jeunes et
talentueux musiciens luxembourgeois très prometteurs : le
Michel Meis 4tet feat. Théo Ceccaldi, le David Ascani 5tet, et
le Gilles Grethen 4tet.
Pour compléter l’affiche, nous avons le plaisir de présenter le
tout nouveau projet de Greg Lamy feat. Flavio Boltro, et, pour
la première fois au Luxembourg, le XY Quartet avec Nicola
Fazzini, Alessandro Fedrigo, Saverio Tasca et Luca Colussi
d’Italie ainsi que le Liran Donin’s 1000 Boats avec Chris
Williams, Ben Brown Maria Chiara Argiro, Josh Arcoleo du
Royaume-Uni.

Dudelange’s reputation as the “Luxembourg’s capital of
jazz” is well-established and undisputed. In 2012 the CCRD opderschmelz set in motion a powerful
generator of jazz energy, vision and atmosphere with the
Like A Jazz Machine festival. For this 9th edition, CCRD
opderschmelz and the City of Dudelange are once again
organising a stimulating platform for artists, the public and
professionals alike.
After the great success of the last eight editions, Like
A Jazz Machine 2021 offers a journey into the world of
jazz today, with an emphasis on new creations, emerging
talents and adventurous crossovers. 13 groups, totalling
some sixty musicians, will present their current projects
over four days in the Grand Auditorium of the Regional
Cultural Centre of Dudelange. From tradition to new trends, the festival celebrates jazz in all
its forms with “sacred monsters” such as drummers Daniel
Humair and Billy Cobham, as well as a range of musicians held
in high esteem by jazz lovers, such as Sylvain Rifflet, Théo
Ceccaldi, Théo Girard, Antoine Berjeaut or Samuel Bl**er. And let’s not forget the many sidemen: Valentin Ceccaldi,
Guillaume Aknine, Basile Naudet, Sebastian Rochford, Gautier
Laurent, Jean-Marc Robin, Verneri Pohjola, Benjamin Flament,
Sandrine Marchetti, Fifi Chayeb, Jean-Marie Ecay, Christophe
Cravero and Camelia Ben Naceur.
They will perform on stage alongside groups that seek
out the unusual or the daring, such as Jean-Paul Bourelly
and Gea Russell’s Hips Project feat. Régis Molina, Llorenç
Barcelo Vives, Dani Dominuez and the Pilz - Reis - Dahm -
Martiny Quartet, which are just two of the five artist residencies
that the CCRD opderschmelz has initiated and
facilitated for this 9th edition. The three other residencies,
which we are proud to present to you, are formed around
very promising young and talented Luxembourgish musicians:
the Michel Meis 4tet feat. Théo Ceccaldi, the David
Ascani 5tet, and the Gilles Grethen 4tet.
To complete the line-up, we are pleased to present the
