“Nations of the Atlantic is an ongoing photographic body of work by Kim Lang. The project focuses on a variety of island nations, stretching from West Africa to the Caribbean Sea, and explores their intimate relationship with the ocean…. The sea can be therefore be seen as either as a barrier between nations or as a vessel connecting them. The project focuses on the latter and explores their intimate universal experience of places that fall outside broader continental narratives, but whose everyday lives rely deeply on the ocean: small island nations….”
