Happy Europe Day! 🇪🇺

On 9 May, we celebrate unity, peace, democracy, and the shared values that bring Europeans together.

Europe is stronger when we choose cooperation over division, solidarity over fear, and hope over uncertainty.

May 7 is an important day in Lithuania’s history - a reminder that language can be an act of freedom.

In 1904, Lithuania regained the right to publish books and newspapers in Lithuanian using the Latin alphabet. This ended a 40-year ban imposed by the Russian Empire, which had tried to weaken Lithuanian identity by restricting language, education, publishing, and public expression.

But instead of weakening Lithuanian identity, the ban strengthened it.

Lithuanian books and newspapers continued to be printed abroad, secretly smuggled into the country by knygnešiai - book smugglers who risked prison, exile, and persecution to protect the written word. These publications were read in secret, passed from hand to hand, and became part of a growing national movement.

For Lithuania, May 7 is not only about the end of censorship. It is about the survival of language, culture, memory, and dignity.

🇱🇹🇪🇺 Lithuania marks 22 years in the European Union.

Since May 1, 2004, Lithuania’s EU journey has been a story of progress, resilience, and partnership. Together with Europe, we have grown stronger – politically, economically, and in security.

Today, Lithuania is visible, heard, and respected on the international stage. As we look ahead, we remain committed to co-creating a safer, stronger, and more united Europe.

Let’s celebrate Europe. 🇪🇺

🏛️ International recognition for The Lost Shtetl in Šeduva

Just over six months after opening, The Lost Shtetl has been honoured with the prestigious iF Design Award for its exhibition design.

The deal attracted heavyweight investors including EQT, Schroders Capital, Teachers’ Venture Growth, BlackRock, Lombard Odier Investment Managers and Pinegrove Opportunity Partners.

What makes it especially powerful?
This was not a fresh fundraising round. It was a secondary share sale – a clear sign of strong investor demand for existing Vinted shares.

A big moment for 🚀 Vinted, and another strong signal for Lithuania’s tech ecosystem. 🇱🇹

Vilnius feels a little more magical in spring when the sakuras bloom 🌸

Chiune Sugihara Sakura Park, near the Neris and the National Gallery of Art, is one of the city’s most beloved spring destinations. Its 200 cherry trees were planted in 2001 to honour the Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara 🇯🇵, whose courage helped save thousands of Jewish lives during the Second World War.

Today, the park is full of life: visitors strolling beneath the blossoms, taking photos, and enjoying lunch surrounded by the beauty of spring.

Inspired by the Japanese tradition of hanami, it is a place to pause, gather, and savour the moment.
