Padura '23, the musical extravaganza was held on the 5th of March at the Supplementary Campus Parking lot premises, after a 3-year hiatus. The Saukyadana Unit of IChemC and the Music Circle of the College of Chemical Sciences organized the event as a charity event to raise money for donations to the Apeksha Cancer Hospital in Maharagama and the Victoria Home for Incurables in Rajagiriya.
The event was a massive success with a full house of guest invitees, academic staff, non-academic staff, alumni, and undergraduates. The vibe was set to classical and contemporary Sri Lankan music, and the reaction from the crowd meant that they enjoyed every note of it. The event also gave the chance for the musical talents of CCS chemists to shine through, roared on by the cheers from the crowd.
Notable guests included the Director General of the Saukyadana movement, as well as the academic and non-academic staff of CCS.
