CAF Services is an initiative launched by THEME institute which aims to provide comprehensive psychological support for children and adolescents who suffer from various mental health conditions ranging from behavioral problems to developmental disorders. At present Sri Lanka does not have many centers dedicated to child mental health and even those that are available tend to focus more on psychiat

ry rather than psychology. We at CAFS hope to promote awareness on child and adolescent mental health, conduct necessary assessments and provide tailor made interventions. Furthermore,we plan on organizing specialized workshops and initiate parent support forums in order to create a platform for parents and caregivers of children where they can get together and share their stories and seek help and support from one another. We at THEME further engage in carrying out multi- disciplinary research in the areas of Technology, Health, Environment, Migration Ethics and Education order to identify the needs and create tangible, people-oriented policy drive to address current
and future challenges in these core thematic areas while promoting mental health in general and Child Mental health in particular. For inquiries write to us on [email protected] or whatsapp on +94 76 406 7004

2025 — a year of ups, downs, and everything in between…

From quiet breakthroughs to loud laughter, from challenges that stretched us to moments that healed us; this year has held so much. Through it all, we’ve grown stronger, together.

As Team CAFS looks back with gratitude and forward with hope, we want to thank every heart that walked this journey with us, our clients, the communities we work with, our supporters and well wishers, our colleagues, families and friends.

Wishing all of you a gentle, meaningful season. As the ending of this year is not as easy to some of us, we pray the coming few days bring you peace, and the beginning of the next brings you purpose.

With love,
Team CAFS💛

As we wrap up for the year, today we held an interesting session on men’s mental health and reaching out for support to a great group of people from one of the corporates we work with. Always a pleasure meeting up with people who are interested in who we are and what we do, to partner and collaborate on supporting both men and women to enhance their mental wellbeing ✨

The CAFS corporate team will be signing off for the year in few weeks, but if you’d like to have us to facilitate a session for your organization surrounding mental health, wellbeing or any other related topic; write to us at [email protected]

During COVID, in 2020, CAFS had the opportunity to be supported by EMBER MENTAL HEALTH, UK, receiving mentorship, flexible funding, and skills to help our ideas thrive.

We hope that, with the support of Team EMBER,we will be able to work towards the next stage of growth and long-term sustainability.

Ember has launched Nurture Partnerships—flexible, unrestricted funding to support six Ember Innovators grow and thrive. Through patient, trust-based investment, we are supporting grassroots organisations shape the future of global mental health through community care.

Today we bid farewell to our last cohort of interns for 2025 ✨ Needless to say, these girls have left a mark in all of our hearts! Three months of pure joy seeing them grow from where they were to where they are today, passionate to learn, eager to give back, curiosity to ask questions, and most of all, empathatic to work with the different communities we engage with…
It’s always refreshing to see budding psychologists, giving their best shot at gaining the maximum out of the experience we’ve thoughtfully curated for them!

Wishing you all the best, girls! Go shine bright ✨

Our founder Dr. Giselle attended a collaborative design workshop earlier last week hosted by CAMHRA, UK, exploring what counts as impact in global mental health, asking critical questions about what it means to be or become a peer, the role of AI in data processing, how learning itself might be recognised as impact, and what a peer-to-peer evaluation model could look like in practice.

Looking forward for some exciting new impactful projects in the coming months!

World Su***de Prevention Day reminds us of something we see every day in our work—many reach out for support when they’re struggling, but stigma still keeps them from receiving the care they truly need. Silence and shame only make recovery harder.

Each of us has a role to play. As family, friends, colleagues, and as a society, we can listen with compassion, create safe spaces, and choose language that heals instead of harms.

✨ Let’s not keep these conversations limited to one day a year. Su***de prevention begins with everyday kindness, awareness, and support.
