COSTA COULD FACE LEGAL ACTION
Chelsea striker, Diego Costa could face a legal action for failing to report for training. That's according to the club's hierarchy.
Costa claimed he has been fined for failing to adhere to the club's call to return to training to make himself available for selection. He has been residing in Brazil, hoping to join Atletico Madrid, once their transfer embargo is uplifted in January. However, Chelsea have continued to request Costa back to training, but to no response.
Costa revealed he was axed by manager Antonio Conte, telling him that he (Costa) was not in his (Conte's) plans this season through a text message. It's with this reason that Costa went for holiday in Brazil.
In an interview this week, Costa claimed he was ready to be fined more, for he won't leave Brazil, unless Chelsea agree a deal with Atletico Madrid to sign him.
Diego Costa's lawyer, Richardo Cardosso said he will use all possible mechanisms to see his client out of Chelsea.
Real Betis and Deportivo La Coruna are the recent sides willing to get Costa on loan, but he refuses citing he wants to go to Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid could sign Costa, but only after the window closes. FIFA allows clubs to sign a player inside or outside the transfer window so long as other rules are maintained. Costa's situation and battle with Chelsea, may yet continue until the end of the month, if he continues ignoring their call to return to training.
In addition, Chelsea maintain that Costa's situation is hypothetical and the club remains adamant that Costa must return to training or face legal action.
