It's all to do with the mindset - established beliefs, attitudes, and outlook or disposition about one's self, the world, and their place in it. It's a complex mental state that influences how someone thinks, feels, and behaves. Mindsets can affect a person's success, intelligence, and talent, and how they interact with others.

The thing about Life!

Life does not teach us the way we are taught in school. It doesn't talk or lecture. It's the best teacher of all! It just sort of pushes you around. Each push is life saying, "Wake up! There is something I want you to learn."

If you learn life's lessons, you will do well. If not, life will just continue to push you around. Some people just let it push them around and others get angry and push back. But they push back against their boss, or their job, or their husband or wife. They push back against their friends. They don't know it's life that's pushing.

Life pushes all of us around. Some people give up and others fight. A few learn the lesson and move on. They welcome life pushing them around and learn something. They learn and move on. Most quit, and a few fight. If you are that kind of person with no guts, you just give up every time life pushes you. In this case, you'll live all your life playing it safe, doing the right things, saving yourself for some event that never happens. Then you die a boring old human. Don't let life push you into submission. Don't be terrified of taking risks. Don't let fear defeat you.

IT’S THE THOUGHT OF DEFEAT THAT CAUSES DEFEAT:
Quite often, you feed defeat… there is a deep tendency in human nature to become like that which you imagine yourself to be. Believe you are defeated, believe it long enough, and it is likely to become a fact. Depression settles on over you, bringing the disheartening feeling that there isn’t much use in fighting on. But not everyone yields to this.
People who achieve happiness and success are those who when they tend to sink into a depressed mood, shake it off by refusing to accept the idea of defeat. They refuse to entertain the thought that situations and circumstances, or enemies have them down. They know well that it is the thought of defeat that causes defeat, so they practice thinking positive thoughts – indomitable thoughts. Thoughts of faith surge through their minds. They train their minds to think victory. And as a result, they gain victory. On the other hand, those who accept the idea that they are defeated, usually are beaten.
There is literally enough power in you to overcome every obstacle in your life – know yourself. Know your powers and realize the tremendous power within yourself and you will realize that you do not have to be a defeated person – defeated because you are beset by a false feeling of inferiority – the defeatist or pessimistic syndrome.

The only limits in your life are those that you set yourself. When you dare to get out of your circle of comfort and explore the unknown, you start to liberate your true human potential. This is the first step towards self-mastery and mastery over other circumstances in your life. When you push beyond limits, you unlock mental and physical reserves that you never thought you had. Identify the things that are holding you back. Take time to reflect on what it is that might be keeping you from the life you really want and know deep down you can have.

Once you identified what your weaknesses are, the next step is to face them head on and attack your fears. If you fear public speaking, sign up to give twenty speeches. If you fear a new business, or getting out of a dissatisfying relationship, master every ounce of your inner resolve and do it. Fear is nothing more than a mental monster you have created, a negative stream of consciousness. Do the things you fear!

Success is a poor teacher - we learn the most about ourselves when we fail. So don't be afraid of failing. Failing is part of the process of success. You cant have success without failure.

Everyone on this planet is a wonder of the world. Everyone of us is a hero in some way or another. Everyone of us has the potential for extraordinary achievement, happiness, and lasting fulfillment. All it takes are small steps in the direction of our dreams. Like the Jaj Mahal (an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the southern bank of the river Yamuna in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan who reigned from 1628 to 1658 to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself,) a life overflowing with wonders was built day by day, block by block for Twenty Tow years - the 7th Wonders of the World!

Small victories lead to larger victories. Tinny, incremental changes and improvements will create positive habits. Positive habits will create results. And results will inspire you towards greater personal change. Begin to live each day as if it was your last. Starting today, learn more, laugh more and do what you truly love to do. Do not be denied your destiny. For what lies behind you and what lies in front of you matters little when compared to what lies within you.

Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy. – Robert Tew

Do you remember the first time you had to walk away from an association/relationship; someone – an intimate partner or a family member, a friend or a business partner – because they did not serve you, care for you, respected you or acted in an agreed manner or in ways that you needed them to?

Do you remember the first time you had to walk away from a way of being, from a reality that you wanted for yourself but wasn’t what God wanted for you?

Do you remember the first time you chose unhappiness over happiness because you thought that duty and obedience meant being miserable rather than experiencing a life of joy and freedom? The first time you bought the lie that suffering and sacrifice should be a norm for your life?

When was the last time you walked away from that which no longer served you, grew you or made you happy? That which came into your life and pulled you down from your status? That which played a role in vanguishing your hopes?

Decide that you want to be happy. Think about it – people who walk around happy all the time are viewed with suspicion. In Christian circles, many folks change happiness language to joy, saying that happiness is a feeling and joy is a state of being. As one who lives with depression and is often in a despondent state, decide that you want to be happy. You want to feel elation and you want to not just experience joy but ENJOY your life.

So, today, make a confession – "I choose happiness! Happiness begins with loving myself, being clear about my purpose in life, experiencing authentic, transformative relationships, serving my neighbor and loving out loud. In order for these things to come to pass, I’ve recognized the need to walk away from anything and anyone who impedes this journey. And this is hard. As a person of strong faith and one who believes that we are made to be in community, I struggle with the notion that there are times when walking away is the best option for myself and for my community. Walking away requires faith that what I am leaving behind has served it’s purpose - Godly or otherwise. It also requires honesty with myself that people and situations have seasons – every one and every thing is not meant to be a part of every season. Nothing is permanent in life!"

Have recognition of what changes need to be made in your life as you begin a new chapter. There is some sadness as you think about who and what you will be walking away from as you walk towards a new reality - the truth of the unknow! But increasingly, you feel a deep, abiding peace that what you are seeking cannot be attained by staying still - staying put. You’ve got to move forward and this means walking away from the life you thought you wanted in order to embrace the life you were created for - perhaps. In taking this step, you're moving closer to becoming the person God has created you to be and you are beginning to understand that walking away isn’t a bad thing. It’s a liberating thing.

The declaration of personal power:
There comes a time when in the lives of those destined for greatness when we must stand before the mirror of meaning and ask: Why, having been endowed with the courageous heart of a lion, do we live as mice?

We must look squarely into our own tired eyes and examine why we waste so much time sniffing at every distraction, why we cower at the thought of revealing our true selves to the world, why we scurry so quickly from conflict, and why we consent to to play small. We must ask why we participate so humbly in society's frantic race, allowing ourselves into its mazes of mediocrity and settling for scraps of reward when nature has offered unlimited freedom, power, and abundance to the bold, the determined, the creative, the independent - to each of us! We must ask if our desires to feel safe and accepted are in fact enslaving us to popular opinion - and to boredom. We must ask: When will we be ready to ascend to another level of existence?

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to ask such questions and to dissolve the beliefs and behaviors that have limited us, assuming once more the full powers of our being to which God and the laws of nature have entitled us, a decent respect to humankind requires that we should declare the motives that impel us to exert our strength and to separate ourselves from those who stunt our vitality, growth, and happiness.

We must declare our personal power and freedom.

We hold these truths self-evident: That all men and women are created equal, though we do not live equal lives due to differences in will, motivation, effort, and habit. That we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the persuit of Happiness, but that it is incumbent upon each of us to be vigilant and disciplined should we wish to attain such a vital, free, and happy life. We believe the greatest of human powers is the ability to independently think for ourselves, to choose our own aims, affections, and actions. For in the hearts of humankind lives a natural instinct for freedom and independence, a psychological predispositions for self-direction, a biological imperative towards growth, and a spiritual joy in choosing and advancing one's own life. It is the motivation of humankind to be free, to express our true selves and pursue our dreams without restriction - to experience what may be called personal freedom.

To secure these Rights and this personal freedom, men and women of conscience must not concent to be controlled by fear, convention, or the will of the masses - for sometimes the 'M' is always silent. We must govern our own lives, and when our thoughts and actions become destructive, it is our responsibility to alter or abolish them and to institute New habits as the foundation's for a freer, happier life. We must exert our power, improving how we think and how we interact with the world.

When a long chain of self-oppressions and social controls has reduced our strength and independence, it is our right-our duty-to throw off such a life, rise a new, and charge unencumbered through the gates of greatness.

We have patiently suffered long enough, hopping that someone or some kind of luck would one day grant us more opportunity and happiness. But nothing external can save us, and the fateful hour is at hand when we either become trapped at this level of life or we choose to ascend to a higher plane of consciousness and joy. In this ailing and turbulent world, we must find peace within and become more self-reliant in creating the life we deserve.

This will be a difficult effort, as the history of our actions too often tells a tale of self-injury and unhappiness, stemming from our blind desire to be judged worthy, acceptable, and lovable by poeple who hardly know our true hearts and powers. And so we have kept ourselves down: We forgot to set clear intentions and standards, and too often failed to voice our desires and dreams. Randomness and mediocrity too often ruled the day, and the loud and the needy dictated who we were and what we should do - our lives becoming subject to the tyranny of fools. If we can be vulnerable and brave enough to admit such missteps, we might see the potential we left unrealized; we might see a shinning new path.

And so let us right our lives. Let us face the mirror and be candid. No matter what we see, let us use these common human truths and personal declarations to reclaim our freedom:

We are too often lost in the abyss of unawareness. We regularly miss the energy and blessings around us, and the importance of this very moment. It's as though we prefer to be elsewhere doing something else, as if we are living in distant time zones, hours behind or ahead of the joyous tick and bliss of Now. We have forgotten that the natural foe to life is not a distant death, but a present, in-the-moment detachment from living. Should we wish to be free and alive with full power, we must decide to bring the full might of our conscious mind to the present experience. We must choose to feel again. We must set intentions for who we are, for what roles we wish to serve, for how we'll relate with the world. Without a vibrant awareness, we cannot connect with others or ourselves, nor can we meet the demands of the hour with grace. For this, we now declare: WE SHALL MEET LIFE WITH FULL PRESENCE AND POWER.
