The Grand Interiors Show is pleased to announce the Interior Design Awards of Excellence of the year 2019.
This award scheme is aimed at recognizing excellence in interior design for projects executed and completed in Kenya or within East Africa by members of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) or Interior Design Association of Kenya (IDAK).
Entries shall be accepted from all registered Interior Designers, Architects and Architectural firms who must be members of the Architectural Association of Kenya or the Interior Design Association of Kenya.
Projects: Members can enter any project in progress or completed in Kenya or within East Africa in the last 3 years upto 2016.

A panel of local jurists selected to judge entries received for the awards in 2019 shall include;

Submission Categories:
Awards shall be presented in the following categories:
Best commercial office fit out
Best commercial retail fit out
Best Hospitality project
Best Residential project
Best Education Project
Best Health Project
Best Cultural Project
Best Restoration Project
Evaluation Criteria:
The Jury shall consider all submissions and award projects on the basis of the following essential criteria:
Design, Innovation and Creativity
Cost Effectiveness
Creative Use of Materials
Promotion of African Traditional Architecture
Sustainability
Socio-economic Impact to the Community
Eco-design
Submission Requirements:
All entrants shall be required to submit projects through filling in an online form and submitting images of completed projects. The projects will be submitted as outlined:
Up to 10 images (JPD/PDF) and 1 PDF can be submitted per entry
The images should be in jpg/png files cropped to a 4:3 format
The images should be at least 1000px wide and no larger than 4MB size for PDF files
The images should be saved as ‘’screen view’’ and be limited to 6 pages per file, Max 4 MB
Entries should include as much details as possible
Entries should include floor and small-scale (8.5’’ x 11’’) site plans showing the project in its context
Entries can be submitted as completed, in process or conceptual works.
If the entry concerns an alteration or restoration, please include both ‘before’ and ‘after’ images
A description of 500 words or less
Submission Criteria:
All entries shall be submitted through filling out an online form and submitting images of completed projects no later than 5pm E.A.T. on 15th March 2019.
Entry Fee:
The entry fee per project for the award shall be Ksh. 2,000/- which shall be non-refundable. This can be paid through MPESA – Paybill 693134 – Account number name of company or individal submitting project or by cheque in favour of Standout Ventures East Africa Ltd.
Awards Ceremony:
The Awards Ceremony shall be held on 29th March 2019 at the Trademark Hotel, Village Market, Nairobi from 6:30pm to 10:00pm.
