Kahawa Arts Festival (KAF)
In a bid to play our part to realize sustainable development goals: No poverty, Zero hunger, Decent work, Economic growth and Industry innovation. This initiative is triggered to arrest spurring rate of unemployment, radicalization, drug abuse, deviant behavior coupled with population pressure is alarming of Kenya likely to destabilize economies if combined efforts are not accorded. Youths and women are crying of social exclusion a quest putting pressure on the government and society to streamline various structures including service delivery mechanisms.
In the endeavor to ensure that youthful population delivers to the country’s social economic securities, their potential must be tapped thoroughly. This includes empowering youth by participating and actively engaging in youth led activities like the upcoming Kahawa Arts Festival.
Youth from Kahawa West registered under the Ministry of Gender and Social Services as KAHAWA ARTS YOUTH GROUP have come together with Artists who are from Kahawa West and its environs to develop an avenue where talented youth within Kahawa west and its environs will benefit from, as well as provide a fun filled interactive festival event for Kahawa residents.
Primary beneficiaries of this project are acts of talent and art spotted in children homes, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, churches and individuals with talent. Youth led organizations are in a unique position to develop and implement initiatives that address issues from a youth perspective and offer solutions that respond to the diverse realities of young people.
