🌸Nakajima Park is now in full bloom🌛
One of Sapporo’s go-to sakura spots, and it’s finally at its best right now.
It’s super easy to get to—just a short walk from Susukino, and right by Nakajima Koen Station on the Namboku Line.
Perfect if you’re already exploring the city.
From late April to early May, the park is also lit up at night.
With Ezo-yamazakura and weeping cherry trees glowing softly, the whole place feels calm and a bit magical.
It’s not overly crowded either, which makes it a nice spot if you want to enjoy the blossoms at your own pace.

🌸Hokkaido Today: Sakura Update from Sapporo!🌸
If you thought cherry blossom season in Japan was already over, it’s not too late.
Right now, in Sapporo, one of the most beautiful—and shortest—seasons of the year is just beginning！

Today at Odori Park, the city is slowly turning into spring colors🌸🌷
Cherry blossoms are blooming rapidly, and this year they’re moving toward full bloom at a record-breaking pace.
In Sapporo, the blossoms are already close to full bloom,
and the best viewing period is expected to last through the beginning of Golden Week.

The cherry blossoms you see in Hokkaido are different from the pale pink ones commonly found in Honshu.
Here, you’ll find Ezo-Yamazakura, a variety unique to Hokkaido.
Their color is deeper—a richer shade of pink.
And as the flowers bloom, the leaves emerge at the same time, giving the whole tree a slightly reddish, vibrant look even from a distance.
There’s something a little more natural about it—slightly wild,a true expression of “spring in Hokkaido.”

There was an earthquake in Hokkaido last night, and the Japan Meteorological Agency has advised everyone to “stay a little cautious about possible aftershocks for about a week.”

I live in Chuo Ward in Sapporo, and my place shook quite a bit too —
but today I’m back at work as usual, and the city feels completely normal 😊

Right now, there’s no major disruption, and transportation and tourist spots are all operating as usual.
So you can enjoy your trip without worrying too much!
