Hi everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well.

As some of you may know, our Blue Mountains Japanese Sakura Festival is organised by just the two of us, Ayaka and Nicole (and her wonderful team), and we’re doing our best to create a warm, community‑focused event that shares a little piece of Japanese culture with the Blue Mountains.

We are currently looking for any businesses who might be interested in supporting the festival as sponsors.
Even a small contribution would mean so much to us and would help us continue building a gentle, family‑friendly cultural event for our community, especially because we are committed to keeping the festival free entry for everyone.

If you or someone you know owns a business and might be open to supporting us, I would be truly grateful if you could reach out.
I’m very new to this process, so I’m learning as I go, but I’m doing my best, and any support or guidance is deeply appreciated.

This festival has been a long‑held dream of mine since I moved here, and Nicole has been supporting me wholeheartedly to make it a reality.

To bring this event to life, we truly need as much support as possible. If you feel you can lend a hand, even in a small way, it would mean the world to us.

Thank you always for your kindness and encouragement.
It really gives us the strength to keep going.

Thank you so, so much for your applications!
Just a day or so after I posted the previous announcement, we’ve already received over 10 applications!!! I'm so EXCITED 🤩

This form is for anyone who would like to have a stall: artisans, merchandise and food stalls, workshops, community groups (such as expos), travel‑related service stalls, etc.

As we have already received many stallholder enquiries, please understand that submitting this form does not guarantee a spot, and it is not first‑come, first‑served. We will review all applications carefully and contact successful applicants individually after the deadline. (If we receive more applications than we can accommodate, we will need to prioritise stalls that best suit our festival concept and provide a good variety.)

I’m truly sorry that we can’t give you much time due to the circumstances, but we hope this won’t affect too many people.
If you’d like to take part in our first BIG Japanese festival in the Mountains, the Blue Mountains Japanese Sakura Festival, please fill out the form and send it to us!

We are hoping to have five different categories of booths:
① Japanese traditional
② Pop culture (theme: Harajuku and pastel colours)
③ Japan travel
④ Blue Mountains souvenirs
⑤ Food / drinks

More important information is included in the application form, so please read it carefully before applying.

Hi everyone!

Finally… finally, I was able to complete both the application form and the sponsorship form! I truly appreciate Nicole for helping me create them and for being so understanding of my situation. Things have been a bit rough lately, as my little one had to go to the hospital and my own condition hasn’t been the best, but we finally managed to make it work together.

I’m also very grateful to everyone who gave us the time and patience to complete these forms. Since there are mainly just two of us working behind the scenes, things can move a little slower than in larger or more established organisations.

Also, as I run this as a non‑profit activity, I will need to ask for some additional support for myself in the form of volunteers. I’ll announce a recruitment call soon. (Please note that this volunteer recruitment is for me, Ayaka Thompson (Small Japan in Australia). Nicole, who runs All Events, Markets and Festival, is not involved in this part.)

Anyway, let’s start to make this festival as amazing as we can together!

First, here is the application form for stalls. This form is for anyone who would like to have a stall: artisans, merchandise and food stalls, workshops, community groups (like expos), travel‑related service stalls, etc.!

As we have already received so many stallholder enquiries, please understand that submitting this form does not guarantee a spot, and it is not first‑come, first‑served either. We will review all applications carefully and contact successful applicants individually after the deadline.
(If we receive more applications than we can accommodate, we will need to prioritise stalls that best suit our festival concept and offer a good variety.)

No filter no AI just a girl getting a hug from a Sakura (cherry blossom 🌸 ) in Osaka.

Did you know that the Blue Mountains in New South Wales Australia has cherry blossoms that bloom in October? Well fun fact it does and that’s why we have planned our Blue Mountains Japanese Sakura festival for 3rd October at Lawson Public School. Let’s celebrate together with beautiful cherry blossoms and Japanese culture on Saturday 3rd October 2026.
