SVEGLIA... IL MONDO E' AMMALATO... PER COLPA DI CHI?

🇮🇹 Il mondo è profondamente ammalato e la responsabilità è dell'uomo. Consumismo, inquinamento, guerre, tecnologia e indifferenza sono il riflesso di una società sempre più distante dalle problematiche del nostro tempo, dove il profitto prevale sulla tutela del pianeta, i social alimentano un'esistenza illusoria e i fenomeni migratori finiscono per accentuare paure, divisioni e razzismo. Il canto del gallo, simbolo del risveglio, richiama l'urgenza di ritrovare consapevolezza e rispetto per la natura e per l'umanità.

🇬🇧The world is deeply unwell, and humanity bears the responsibility. Consumerism, pollution, war, technology and indifference are all reflections of a society increasingly detached from the issues of our time, in which profit takes precedence over the protection of the planet, social media perpetuates an illusory existence, and migration ultimately serves to heighten fear, division and racism. The crowing of the cockerel, a symbol of awakening, serves as a reminder of the urgent need to rediscover our awareness and respect for nature and humanity.

🇩🇪 Die Welt ist schwer krank, und die Verantwortung dafür trägt der Mensch. Konsumismus, Umweltverschmutzung, Kriege, Technologie und Gleichgültigkeit sind das Spiegelbild einer Gesellschaft, die sich immer weiter von den drängenden Problemen unserer Zeit entfernt. In einer Welt, in der der Profit über den Schutz des Planeten gestellt wird, soziale Medien eine trügerische Wirklichkeit schaffen und Migration Ängste, Spaltungen und Rassismus verstärken kann, erinnert der Motivwagen an die Folgen unseres Handelns. Der Ruf des Hahns, Symbol des Erwachens, mahnt dazu, das eigene Bewusstsein wiederzufinden und den Respekt vor der Natur und vor der Menschlichkeit neu zu entdecken.

Un’occasione di confronto per condividere progettualità, obiettivi e prospettive per il futuro del Carnevale di Viareggio.

Today in Florence, the first meeting was held between the President of the Viareggio Carnival Foundation, Riccardo Maria Monti, and the President of the Tuscany Regional Government, Eugenio Giani.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views and share plans, objectives and future perspectives for the Viareggio Carnival.

MISERIA E NOBILTA'

🇮🇹 È il preludio di uno spettacolo che va finalmente in scena: il popolo acclama la sua "Prima Donna", chiamata a regnare sull'Italia. Ma, dietro una maschera rassicurante, la protagonista rivela presto il suo vero volto. Attraverso un'operetta tragicomica, la costruzione propone una satira ispirata alla premier Giorgia Meloni, rappresentata come una regina, che concentra il potere e assiste con indifferenza all'impoverimento materiale e umano del Paese. L'Italia, oppressa da tasse e leggi, è raffigurata ai piedi della sovrana, mentre la sua grande gonna si trasforma in un sipario dal quale emergono gli incubi della società contemporanea, in un omaggio alla tradizione del teatro italiano.

Through a tragicomic operetta, the float satirises the concentration of power while Italy faces growing social and economic hardship. Beneath the sovereign’s glamorous gown, which transforms into a theatre curtain, emerge the nightmares of contemporary society — a tribute to Italy’s rich theatrical tradition.

🇩🇪 Die Aufführung rückt eine „Primadonna“ ins Zentrum, inspiriert von der italienischen Ministerpräsidentin Giorgia Meloni und dargestellt als Königin, die die Macht in ihren Händen vereint. Die tragikomische Operette übt Satire an einer politischen Führung, die angesichts der sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Schwierigkeiten Italiens gleichgültig bleibt. Ihr prächtiger Rock verwandelt sich in einen Theatervorhang, hinter dem die Ängste und Albträume der heutigen Gesellschaft sichtbar werden – eine Hommage an die italienische Theatertradition.

🇮🇹 Donald Trump, raffigurato come lo Zio Sam, da una monumentale postazione di comando, dirige i mastini Guerra, Sanzioni e Paura. Satira sul potere e sull'uso della forza, come strumento della politica, la costruzione è un'allegoria sulle conseguenze che il potere può scatenare, quando sceglie la forza, anziché il dialogo. A contrapporsi a questo scenario sfilano oltre centotrenta clown bianchi, simbolo di un'umanità che risponde all'arroganza del potere con sorriso, ironia e creatività. Se il potere ha bisogno di alzare la voce per imporsi, la pace non ha bisogno di gridare: le basta rivelarsi.

🇬🇧 Donald Trump, portrayed as Uncle Sam, commands the scene from a monumental control platform, directing the mastiffs of War, Sanctions, and Fear. A satire on power and the use of force as a political instrument, this float is an allegory of the consequences unleashed when those in power choose coercion over dialogue. Opposing this vision, more than one hundred and thirty white clowns parade as a symbol of humanity’s response to the arrogance of power through smiles, irony, and creativity. If power needs to raise its voice in order to assert itself, peace does not need to shout: it simply needs to reveal itself.

🇩🇪 Donald Trump, dargestellt als Uncle Sam, steuert von einer monumentalen Kommandozentrale aus die Kampfhunde Krieg, Sanktionen und Angst. Als Satire über Macht und den Einsatz von Gewalt als politisches Mittel erzählt dieser Motivwagen von den Folgen, die Macht entfesseln kann, wenn sie auf Stärke statt auf Dialog setzt. Diesem Szenario stellen sich mehr als hundertdreißig weiße Clowns entgegen – Symbol einer Menschheit, die der Arroganz der Macht mit Lächeln, Ironie und Kreativität begegnet. Denn während die Macht ihre Stimme erheben muss, um sich durchzusetzen, braucht der Frieden keinen Lärm: Er muss nur sichtbar werden.

E con oggi si è conclusa anche la terza settimana del Cittadella Kids Campus, in collaborazione con il Museo Carnevale Viareggio

Sono state giornate ricchissime di attività: dalla cartapesta ai giochi, dalla manualità alla lingua e al teatro in inglese, passando per le visite guidate al museo e agli hangar, senza dimenticare tantissimo movimento, divertimento e socializzazione!

E lunedì si riparte, per la quarta e ultima settimana.
Evviva! 🎉

And just like that, week three of Cittadella Kids Campus has come to an end!

In collaboration with the Museo Carnevale Viareggio, it’s been a week full of creativity, discovery and fun, from papier-mâché, games and creative activities to English language and theatre, with guided visits to the museum and hangars, plenty of movement, and lots of opportunities to make new friends and enjoy time together.

And there’s no time to slow down… we’re back on Monday for our fourth and final week!
Let the fun continue! 🎉

🇮🇹 Barbablù è il nostro predatore interiore, tirannico e possessivo, la nostra ombra che ci nasconde verità scomode, dietro una maschera benevola e affascinante. La sposa è la nostra anima, che ha un bisogno innato di conoscere sé stessa e con coraggio accede alla stanza segreta di Barbablù, l'oscuro inconscio dove abbiamo accumulato orrori, dolori non elaborati e rabbie inespresse. Una volta aperta la porta con la chiave della conoscenza l'anima sarà finalmente libera. La libertà passa attraverso il coraggio di guardare, riconoscere e integrare la nostra ombra.

Mit Mut betritt sie Blaubarts geheimnisvolle Kammer – den dunklen Raum unseres Unbewussten, in dem wir Schrecken, unverarbeitete Schmerzen und unausgesprochene Wut verborgen haben. Sobald die Tür mit dem Schlüssel der Erkenntnis geöffnet ist, wird die Seele endlich frei. Denn Freiheit entsteht durch den Mut, der eigenen Schattenseite zu begegnen, sie anzuerkennen und in sich zu integrieren.

CHI E' IL VERO MOSTRO A NOTRE DAME

🇮🇹 Tra le guglie di Notre Dame appare Quasimodo, il celebre personaggio di Victor Hugo. Interpretato in chiave contemporanea è simbolo di un'umanità schiacciata dal giudizio, dall'intolleranza, dall'egoismo e dalla continua ricerca della perfezione. La sua fragilità è il riflesso delle paure dell'uomo di oggi e la narrazione di una società che ha smesso di guardare oltre le apparenze. L'allegoria invita a riscoprire i valori dell'umanità, della compassione e dell'accettazione, ricordando che il vero mostro non è sempre quello che gli occhi vedono.

🇩🇪 Zwischen den Türmen von Notre-Dame erscheint Quasimodo, die berühmte Figur aus Victor Hugos Werk. In einer zeitgenössischen Interpretation wird er zum Symbol einer Menschheit, die von Verurteilung, Intoleranz, Egoismus und der ständigen Suche nach Perfektion erdrückt wird. Seine Verletzlichkeit spiegelt die Ängste des modernen Menschen wider und erzählt von einer Gesellschaft, die verlernt hat, hinter die äußere Erscheinung zu blicken. Die Allegorie lädt dazu ein, die Werte von Menschlichkeit, Mitgefühl und Akzeptanz wiederzuentdecken. Denn das wahre Monster ist nicht immer das, was unsere Augen zu erkennen glauben.

🎭 L’arte dei maestri del Carnevale di Viareggio sul palcoscenico del Festival Puccini Torre del Lago

Le ultime due serate della stagione sono dedicate a Madama Butterfly e La Fanciulla del West, due opere le cui scenografie hanno visto il coinvolgimento degli artisti del Carnevale di Viareggio e dei laboratori della Cittadella.

Per gli spettacoli del 4 e 5 settembre, il Festival Puccini riserva ai residenti nel Comune di Viareggio una riduzione del 50% sul biglietto.

NAUFRAGHI D'UMANITA'

🇮🇹 Ulisse, l'eroe astuto e invincibile, naufraga nel mare del nostro tempo. Con lui affonda il mito di una società evoluta, progredita e perfetta. Come Ulisse, l'uomo contemporaneo si riscopre fragile, vulnerabile, smarrito nella sua Odissea quotidiana. Nel tentativo di superare ogni limite, fisico e mentale, ha oltrepassato il confine più grande: la propria umanità. Intorno a lui risuona il canto ipnotico di moderne Sirene, simbolo delle distrazioni di massa e delle tentazioni effimere del nostro tempo. Su questo scenario di totale deriva incombe l'ombra minacciosa di Polifemo, memoria degli errori e della tracotanza che accompagnano da sempre il cammino dell'uomo. Itaca rappresenta così la ricerca di una nuova identità e di un senso autentico dell'esistenza.

🇩🇪 Odysseus wird zum Symbol des modernen Menschen: Einst überzeugt von seiner Stärke und seinem Fortschritt, erkennt er sich heute als verletzlich, verloren und von seiner eigenen Menschlichkeit entfremdet. Die Sirenen stehen für die Ablenkungen und Versuchungen der modernen Welt, während Polyphem an die wiederkehrenden Fehler und die Arroganz des Menschen erinnert. Ithaka wird schließlich zum Symbol der Suche nach einer neuen Identität und nach einer authentischen Bedeutung des Lebens.
