New Zealand at the Venice Architecture Biennale In 2016, New Zealand will again present a national exhibition at the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale. http//:venice.nzia.co.nz

New Zealand's national exhibition at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale will be entitled 'Future Islands. Dr Charles Walker, from AUT's Colab, is the Creative Director. The Associate Director of the exhibition is Kathy Waghorn, from the University of Auckland, and the full team is comprised of architects Rewi Thompson, Jessica Barter, Maggie Carroll and Jon Rennie, along with model maker Minka

Ip, exhibition builder Stephen Brookbanks, and video production specialists Bruce Ferguson and Emma Wolf. Tony van Raat, head of the School of Architecture at Unitec, is New Zealand's Commissioner to Venice. La Biennale begins in mid-2016, and rund for three months.

And that's a wrap, La Biennale di Venezia for 2016 is over. Grazie mille to all those who visited 'Future Islands' in Venice, we hope you enjoyed this experience of Aotearoa New Zealand in Venice. Many thanks, too, to the creative team that worked tirelessly to create the exhibition, all those who built models and islands, installed the exhibition, maintained it, volunteered to attend to it. This trip to Venice was funded by many architectural practices, private donors and companies - thanks to all of you for helping New Zealand get such a wonderful exhibition to Venice in 2016!

A select number of organisations are utilising the New Zealand Room at the Palazzo Bollani for events promoting discourse about New Zealand architecture and design. Upcoming events include:

Tuesday 13 September, 3-5pm
John Scott’s Life and Works, Julia Gatley (Head of Architecture, Auckland University) – presentation with Q&As.

Wednesday 14 Sept, 3 – 5pm
Wool – a natural fit in the built environment, Lars Vejens ( Head of Design, Aarhus) Stephen Fookes (wool expert)
