"Are we still pretending this is not about us?”, the first solo show of in Venice at , is open until November 23. Don't miss the chance to visit it!

At the heart of the exhibition are Chaparro’s striking totemic sculptures — carved, polished, or fractured metal forms that rise like ancient-futuristic monoliths. In contrast, his paintings operate as meditative surfaces in flux.

“Are we still pretending this is not about us?” questions the illusion of separation between ourselves and the environments we inhabit, proposing instead a sensitivity of perception: a way of seeing the world as something we are inherently part of.

The fifth edition of the Venice Design Biennial has just come to an end, but don’t forget that you can discover the “Architectural and Design Landscapes” exhibition until 22 November!

We are truly delighted to have collaborated this year with and the entire team to present their worthwhile project as part of our programme.

On the gallery’s second floor, “Architectural and Design Landscapes” showcases pieces by and selected jewelry from gallery represented artists, exploring the themes of Myths & Surrealism.

Founded in 2019 by Jean-Matthieu Matisse, Maison Matisse perpetuates the painter’s artistic legacy through collaborations with designers. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the painter’s birth, three limited-edition vase series are on display at the Palazzina Masieri.
The exhibition showcases outstanding works and celebrates the vision of exceptional designers like Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Jaime Hayon et Alessandro Mendini.

The Myths & Surrealism jewelry selection reveals the poetic imagination of Galerie Negropontes’ artists, such as Agnès Baillon, Elena Syraka, Éric de Dormael, Étienne Moyat, Gianluca Pacchioni, Jean-Christophe Malaval, Walid Akkad.

🔸️Focus on_ ERLANDS & BAI BAI

Extinction / Salvation Glass

In connection with their VDB Collateral Project "Revival in Stillness" at Spazio Ravà - Rialto, at SPARC* designers ERLANDS & BAI BAI display a piece from the EB WeightLight Collectible Series Light Collection.

These art pieces are sculptural lights and tools for physical engagement, inviting to sculpt your body as you interact with art.

"LIGHT3" is both a light piece and a training object, used for dynamic movement of core balance training with firm grip of rough glass and handle surfaces. The largest two hand hold size object variating from 4–5kg, individually marked with its unique row number and weight.
BAI BAI signature glass techniques, is an ode to the craftsmanship of glass blowers including textured and rough surfaces boldly shaping full body glass that adds unforgettable visual and sensory experience.

Extinction / Salvation Collectible

Designed to be more than just functional lighting, Franca wall lights explore the idea of identity through form and material. The collection reflects a balance between contrasts- light and shadow, clarity and ambiguity- capturing the spirit of a woman who defied convention and embraced complexity.

Crafted in metal and treated to replicate the raw, organic texture of found rocks, each piece is inherently unique. Through controlled temperature treatments, Manuhita's approach allows the material to react naturally, embracing its spontaneous variations rather than forcing uniformity.

🔸️Focus on_ Anna Jozova .jozova
Extinction / Salvation Glass

Anna Jožová's works on show at SPARC* Spazio Arte Contemporanea belong to the Dysplasio series (2024), a collection inspired by the host-parasite relationship.

Without the parasites wouldn’t have host motivation to evolve. Their surface is always treated in at least two ways, with one being more dominant. Reliefs with impressions of marine organisms are juxtaposed with smooth glass surfaces.
Made of blown glass into metal mould and glass stickers, these vases give the impression that non-native organic or inorganic forms are embedded in the body of the host.

The name "Dysplasio" refers to Jožová's most current focus, namely the theme of growth deviations and sudden changes in development. Again, the focus is on a process that is perceived as negative from most angles. However, the designer views these deviations as natural and necessary anomalies for the harmony of the ecosystem.

🔸️Focus on_ Maria Koshenkova
Extinction / Salvation Glass

In her works Maria Koshenkova draws the attention towards the most basic conditions of human existence. She creates a poetic space between realism and abstraction, meaning and chaos. A space where the brutal and macabre is offset by an exquisite aesthetic of the detail.
The glass represents the human part – vulnerable, exposed and disabled - while the metal or rope is a kind of a caregiver.

This interplay exposes the complex choreography between life and death, revealing the unstable yet undeniably vital power. This thematic process of uncovering tenderness versus brutality is in constant transformation in Koshenkova's artistic practice.

Glassa was born from the desire to experiment with both the form and usability of the finished product.
Its seemingly simple doughnut shape conceals a technical complexity both in the processing of the foam rubber and in the subsequent coating phase and creation of its base.

There is an interesting contrast between its elegant and refined appearance and its informal and playful use. The shape recalls the world of food, evoking softness and lightness, but the combination with metal creates a unique balance, stiffening its perception and adding a more structured and sophisticated character.

🔹️Focus on_ Selma Alihodžić — STUDIO MÆRZ

Extinction / Salvation Collectible

By bridging traditional artisanal techniques, advanced manufacturing, and avant-garde design, Selma Alihodžić crafts immersive environments that respond to the intelligence of both built and ecological systems.

On show at SPUMA Space for the Arts, "Phantom Ornament" is a poetic installation that weaves together the ghostly sounds of rare, last-of-their-kind embroidery machines
into a living canvas of evolving patterns. Light and movement transform the precious textile—ornaments echo historic embroidery forms—ephemeral, intangible, and in constant motion.

🔸️Focus on_ Elinor Haynes

Extinction / Salvation Glass

Elinor Haynes' research explores the
tension between the spiritual and the carnal. Her practice spans sculpture, installation, and moving image, incorporating a wide array of materials such as glass, ceramics, bones, wood, saliva, sweat, and 3D animation.
Through this material hybridity, she interrogates embodiment—its messiness, vulnerability, and raw intensity—within a socio-economic climate that increasingly flattens and sterilises human experience.

In her work "Release for 2", the body is not a sealed vessel but a porous, leaking entity—one that resists commodification and demands presence.

Haynes’ visceral approach challenges the aesthetics of control, offering instead forms that pulse, ooze, and insist on the intimacy of being alive.

🔹️Focus on_ Dejana Kabiljo
Extinction/Salvation Collectible

Dejana Kabiljo plays with concepts of useful and useless, her objects being busy at times, often lazy, stretched in the sun only to be revered.

In her series Sands, the pieces are made of sand on foam, stones, seashells, plastic toys on vintage wood base and jute cords. Operative functionality, or the intentional lack of it, is integrated into the work as a poetic element.

Consequently, materials get cooked, cast, spilt, bent, melted, burnt, bleached, blow dried, curled, and turned to gold, until they fit into place.
