Ci sono esperienze che non si rimandano e approfittare di questo weekend e giorni di ponte per visitare le mostre di EXPOSED è una di queste.

Il 2 giugno si avvicina, e la chiusura del Festival è alle porte.

There are some experiences you simply can’t put off, and making the most of this weekend to visit the EXPOSED exhibitions is one of them.

June 2nd is fast approaching, and the Festival is drawing to a close.

Daniel Chatard vince la seconda edizione del Garesio Wine Prize for Documentary Photography! 🏅📷
Il premio, promosso da Garesio Vini in collaborazione con Camera Centro Italiano per la Fotografia e inserito nel programma di EXPOSED, celebra i progetti fotografici che affrontano con uno sguardo originale il tema del paesaggio, ambiente ed ecologia, offrendo al vincitore una residenza artistica nelle Langhe per la realizzazione di una nuova produzione.

Il fotografo documentarista franco-tedesco Chatard è stato selezionato dalla giuria, composta da Giovanna Garesio, Walter Guadagnini e François Hébel, per la sua ricerca visiva autentica e intensa, caratterizzata da originalità, coerenza e attenzione alle piccole comunità locali.

Daniel Chatard wins the second edition of the Garesio Wine Prize for Documentary Photography!🏅📷
The award, organised by Garesio Vini in collaboration with CAMERA and forming part of the EXPOSED programme, celebrates photographic projects that offer an original perspective on the themes of landscape, the environment and ecology, offering the winner an artist’s residency in the Langhe to create a new body of work.

The Franco-German documentary photographer Chatard was selected by the jury, comprising Giovanna Garesio, Walter Guadagnini and François Hébel, for his authentic and intense visual exploration, characterised by originality, consistency and a focus on small local communities.

Cosa si nasconde dietro la nascita di un progetto fotografico? ✨

Sabato 30 maggio vi aspettiamo da Camera Centro Italiano per la Fotografia per il terzo e ultimo appuntamento con “Lavori in corso”, il ciclo di incontri nato per esplorare la fotografia proprio mentre prende forma, svelando il dietro le quinte del processo creativo.

What lies behind the creation of a photographic project? ✨

On Saturday 30 May, we look forward to seeing you at CAMERA – Italian Centre for Photography for the third and final instalment of “Lavori in corso”, a series of talks designed to explore photography as it takes shape, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.

An afternoon of unfiltered conversation with six artists who will discuss their research and works still in progress: Matteo De Mayda, Sara Lorusso, Camillo Pasquarelli, Zoe Natale Mannella, Leila Erdman Tabukashvili and Federica Belli, accompanied and moderated by Camilla Ferrero and Giulia Ninotta.

🌊 Si parte domani 26 maggio alla Pinacoteca Agnelli con l’incontro con Walter Pfeiffer, per esplorare uno sguardo unico che ha ridefinito i confini tra moda, identità q***r e libertà espressiva.

📸 Il viaggio prosegue venerdì 29 maggio a Camera Centro Italiano per la Fotografia con Paolo Ventura: un talk che sarà anche un'immersione tra racconti sospesi, paesaggi urbani immaginati e la poetica della sua mostra “Acrobati, 2020–2025”.

💡 Sabato 30 maggio a CAMERA, il terzo e ultimo appuntamento con "Lavori in corso": un focus speciale dedicato ai processi creativi e alle ricerche più recenti di sei autori e autrici.

Four events, four different ways of experiencing photography.

🌊 We kick off tomorrow, 26 May, at the Pinacoteca Agnelli with a meeting with Walter Pfeiffer, to explore a unique vision that has redefined the boundaries between fashion, q***r identity and freedom of expression.

📸 The journey continues on Friday 29 May at CAMERA with Paolo Ventura: a talk that will also be an immersion into suspended narratives, imagined urban landscapes and the poetics of his exhibition “Acrobati, 2020–2025”.

💡 On Saturday 30 May at CAMERA, the third and final event in the “Lavori in corso” series: a special focus on the creative processes and latest research of six artists.

🏆To round off the week, on Tuesday 2 June at 6.30 pm at CAMERA, the award ceremony for the Garesio Wine Prize for Documentary Photography will take place, dedicated to photographic projects that explore the themes of landscape, the environment and ecology with an original and informed perspective.

After receiving 323 unpublished photobook dummies from all over the world, the first edition of the EXPOSED feat Witty Books Dummy Award has found its winning project.

🏆 “I am a patient boy” by Giulia Fegez

Selected from a shortlist of 20 finalist dummies, the winning project explores the border between Italy and Slovenia not as a geographical line, but as a lived space and an inner threshold. Drawing on fragmentary family memories, traumas and absences, “I am a patient boy” brings together more than 100 images to construct a subjective perception of territory, where waiting becomes a reflection on identity, transformation and possibilities.

The project was selected by a jury composed of artist Karla Hiraldo Voleau, Giulia Ninotta, curator of “Letti in CAMERA”, and Tommaso Parrillo, founder of Witty Books.

✨ Special mention for the project: “Meteorites” by Emile Kees
✨ Special mention for the book form: “Land Index” by Luca Capuano

The shortlisted projects can still be browsed at CRIPTA747 today until 9:30 pm and tomorrow, Sunday 24 May, until 7:00 pm, offering visitors the chance to discover them page by page.

The winning dummy will now begin a new chapter: “I am a patient boy” will be edited and published by Witty Books in a minimum print run of 400 copies, officially joining the publisher’s catalogue and launching at EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival 2027.

Cosa tiene unite due persone per una vita intera?
Paolo Ventura ci porta sotto i portici di Piazza San Carlo per raccontarci una storia d'amore che sfida la forza di gravità. Tutto nasce dal ritrovamento di un archivio anonimo: le foto di una coppia di acrobati, compagni sul palco e nella vita dagli anni '30 agli anni '70.

Partendo da queste memorie, Ventura isola i due protagonisti e li trasporta in città silenziose e metafisiche, trasformando i loro numeri circensi in una metafora potente della nostra fragilità e della nostra capacità di restare sospesi, insieme.
La mostra è curata da Paolo Ventura e Walter Guadagnini, ed è realizzata in collaborazione con Città di Torino - Dipartimento Gabinetto del Sindaco, Ufficio Look of The City.

🎪 Vi aspettiamo questa sera dalle ore 19:00 in Piazza San Carlo per l’inaugurazione dell’edicola acrobatica di Paolo Ventura: uno storico chiosco che, come in un’acrobazia, torna a riempirsi di carta stampata in occasione della mostra dell’artista.

What keeps two people together for a lifetime?
Paolo Ventura takes us under the arcades of Piazza San Carlo to tell a love story that defies gravity. It all began with the discovery of an anonymous archive: photos of an acrobat couple, partners on stage and in life from the 1930s to the 1970s.

Drawing on these memories, Ventura isolates the two protagonists and transports them to silent, metaphysical cities, transforming their circus acts into a powerful metaphor for our fragility and our ability to remain suspended, together.
The exhibition is curated by Paolo Ventura and Walter Guadagnini, and is organised in collaboration with the City of Turin – Mayor’s Office, Look of The City Department.

🎪 We look forward to seeing you tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Piazza San Carlo for the opening of Paolo Ventura’s “Acrobatic Newsstand”: a historic kiosk that, as if performing an acrobatic feat, is once again being filled with newspapers and magazines for the artist’s exhibition.

Tutto nasce da un album fotografico ritrovato per caso, due acrobati e una storia che, immagine dopo immagine, mostra qualcosa di più profondo: la metafora stessa dell'amore.

I due acrobati entrano così a popolare i mondi onirici e urbani di Paolo Ventura, insieme ad altri personaggi che passeggiano per la città immersi in un'atmosfera sospesa, poetica, quasi metafisica.
Passeggiando, scopriteli anche voi, sotto i portici di piazza San Carlo.

🎪 E venerdì 22 maggio dalle ore 19:00 alle 21.00 inauguriamo l’edicola acrobatica: lo storico chiosco all’angolo tra piazza San Carlo e via Giolitti torna a riempirsi di carta stampata con una selezione speciale curata da Libreria Marini, tra libri d’artista, fotografie, ephemera e riviste d’epoca che dialogano con l’universo immaginifico di Paolo Ventura.

It all began with a photo album discovered by chance, two acrobats and a story which, image by image, reveals something deeper: the very metaphor of love.

The two acrobats thus come to inhabit Paolo Ventura’s dreamlike and urban worlds, alongside other characters who wander through the city immersed in a suspended, poetic, almost metaphysical atmosphere.
As you stroll, discover them for yourselves, beneath the arcades of Piazza San Carlo.

🎪 And on Friday 22 May, from 7 pm to 9 pm, we are launching the ‘acrobatic newsstand’: the historic kiosk on the corner of Piazza San Carlo and Via Giolitti will once again be filled with printed matter, featuring a special selection curated by Libreria Marini, including artists’ books, photographs, ephemera and vintage magazines that engage with Paolo Ventura’s imaginative universe.

26 billboard distribuiti lungo le principali strade della città compongono un paesaggio visivo inatteso, dove tuffatori, bagnanti e l’acqua diventano il filo conduttore per esplorare libertà, corporeità e relazione attraverso l’immagine.

Il titolo richiama “Il tuffatore” di Nino Migliori e dà vita a un dialogo tra generazioni e linguaggi diversi: artiste e artisti affermati ed emergenti costruiscono una narrazione corale che attraversa contesti, estetiche e visioni.

Un invito a guardare la città con occhi nuovi, dove la fotografia emerge nello spazio quotidiano e lo trasforma.

We look forward to welcoming you to a conversation with Walter Pfeiffer, the featured artist of the open-air EXPOSED exhibition “I tuffatori” and the major solo exhibition “In Good Company,” currently on view at Pinacoteca Agnelli, curated by Nicola Trezzi and Simone Castets.

In conversation with Walter Guadagnini and Nicola Trezzi, Pfeiffer will explore his artistic journey and the worlds opened up by his work: from the representation of q***r identities and sexuality to his personal reinterpretation of fashion, blending irony, freedom, and imperfection.

The event will also offer an opportunity to take a closer look at the photograph featured in “I tuffatori,” the EXPOSED exhibition that spans Turin with 26 photographic billboards.
