Il Festival delle Arti Improvvisate tra i più importanti nel panorama nazionale ed internazionale.

Il Festival Internazionale delle Arti Improvvisate "Tolfama", nasce per creare uno spazio ed un’occasione di incontro tra le
diverse culture, tecniche e modalità di esecuzione dell'Improvvisazione Teatrale nazionale ed internazionale, il tutto in uno spazio ricco di peculiarità artistiche, storiche ed architettoniche, che fungono da
motore primario delle performance improvvisate. La bellezza sugge

stiva delle vie, delle strade, delle piazze e dei vicoli della città di Tolfa (Rm), hanno permesso di rendere Tolfama un evento “Site Specific”, caratterizzato cioè da percorsi didattici (Workshop) che culminano in performance improvvisate pensate per essere eseguite sfruttando i luoghi più suggestivi e di interesse architettonico del paese appositamente studiati e selezionati dai docenti internazionali. Grazie alla collaborazione di Vicolo Cechov, Accademia Nazionale di Improvvisazione Teatrale, del Comune di Tolfa, del Centro Studi Italo-Norvegese e di TolfaCittàSlow, il Festival "Tolfama" entra di diritto tra gli eventi più importanti del panorama nazionale e dell'estate Tolfetana portando, nella suggestiva città di Tolfa, improvvisatori teatrali da tutta l'Italia.

BIO
Con una laurea in Ingegneria Fisica e una carriera da attore iniziata nel 2003, Rui Pedro Neto unisce precisione analitica e spontaneità creativa. Dal 2018 è una presenza costante nella scena dell’improvvisazione di Lisbona, collaborando con figure chiave come André Sobral, Luana Proença e Stephen Thornton, con cui ha portato in scena spettacoli long-form come Bad J. Jr.
Il suo percorso artistico è caratterizzato da una forte componente fisica e dall’esplorazione del clown, avendo lavorato con César Gouvêa al LisVegas Fest, dove ha approfondito l’incontro tra clown e improvvisazione.
Rui utilizza la propria espressività corporea per costruire personaggi multidimensionali, concentrandosi su strumenti che permettono agli attori di “ascoltare con più delle sole orecchie”. Partecipante attivo a festival internazionali, tra cui in Italia e nei Paesi Bassi, condivide inoltre la sua esperienza come docente all’Irreverente Festival di Lisbona.

BIO
With a degree in Physics Engineering and a career as an actor dating back to 2003, Rui Pedro Neto combines analytical precision with creative spontaneity. Since 2018, he has become a steady presence in the Lisbon improv scene, collaborating with key figures such as André Sobral, Luana Proença, as well as Stephen Thornton with whom he performed in long-form improv shows, like Bad J. Jr. His artistic journey is defined by a strong physical component and the exploration of Clowning, having worked with César Gouvêa at the LisVegas Fest, where he deepened the intersection between clowning and improvisation. Rui leverages his physical expressiveness to build multi-dimensional characters, focusing on tools that allow actors to listen “with more than just their ears.” An active participant in international festivals including Italy and Netherlands, Rui has also been sharing his expertise as a teacher at the Irreverente Festival, in Lisbon.

Aree Witoelar è insegnante e regista di improvvisazione norvegese di origine indonesiana. È direttore artistico dell’Oslo Impro Festival e fondatore di Impro Neuf International, la più grande comunità di improvvisazione della Norvegia.
Il suo stile è stato descritto come intelligente, versatile, birichino e autentico rispetto alle sue radici culturali. Aree ha insegnato presso Impro Amsterdam, Improfestival Würzburg, Improfestival Karlsruhe, Robin Hood Improv Festival, Sofia Improv Festival, oltre che in Italia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailandia e molti altri luoghi.
La sua missione è rendere l’improvvisazione una forma d’arte globale, accessibile a chiunque, in qualsiasi cultura.

Aree Witoelar is a Norwegian improv teacher and director from Indonesia. He is the artistic director of Oslo Impro Festival and founder of Impro Neuf International, Norway’s biggest improv community. His improv style has been mentioned as smart, versatile, mischievious and authentic to his cultural roots. Aree has taught at Impro Amsterdam, Improfestival Wurzburg, Improfestival Karlsruhe, Robin Hood, Sofia Improv Festival, Italy, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and more. His mission is to make improv a global artform for anyone from any culture.

Con oltre due decenni di esperienza sulle scene belghe e internazionali dell’improvvisazione, Charlotte è una vera forza della natura. Indossa molti “cappelli” — attrice, regista, insegnante, consulente, coach di public speaking, femminista, proprietaria di un cane — ma il suo cuore batte per il palcoscenico. Che si esibisca con il cast internazionale di Woman Up o con il suo gruppo pluripremiato PRISM (medaglia di bronzo ai Campionati Europei 2024), Charlotte porta nelle sue lezioni una ricchezza di esperienza scenica. La sua profonda passione per lo scambio interculturale l’ha portata in tutto il mondo — dall’India al Canada — condividendo la sua visione dell’improvvisazione con comunità diverse. Charlotte si concentra sull’autenticità, dal clowning energico e giocoso alla potenza silenziosa di un monologo commovente.

With over two decades of experience in the Belgian and international improv scenes, Charlotte is a true powerhouse. She wears many hats—actor, director, teacher, advisor, speaking coach, feminist, dog owner—but her heart beats for the stage. Whether she’s performing with the international cast of Woman Up or her award-winning group PRISM (2024 EU Championship Bronze Medalists), Charlotte brings a wealth of stage experience to her teaching. Her deep passion for intercultural exchange has taken her across the globe—from India to Canada—sharing her view on improv with diverse communities. Charlotte focuses on authenticity, from high-energy, playful clowning to the quiet power of a tearjerking monologue.

Maro Lesioti è attrice, improvvisatrice, regista, musicista e formatrice. Ha studiato presso il Hellenic Conservatory, la Modern Times Drama School e la London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
Nel 2018 ha fondato il gruppo di improvvisazione RCAB, che nel biennio 2022–2023 ha partecipato a diversi festival internazionali. È ideatrice e regista dei formati EDMOND-JEAN-WILLIAM, HIERONYMUS BOSCH, CHORUS, THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, ANIMISM, WORLDS APART e MEMORIES (co-creato con Tim Hearn), ed EAGERLY WAITING (co-creato con Gabriel Caropreso).
Subito dopo il diploma ha recitato negli spettacoli MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (2023), EXTREMITIES (2023), THE LAST BIRD (2023–2024), WHITE ROSE (2024), THE ISLAND OF SLAVES (2025) e nei cortometraggi SYMPHYSIS (2025), 26 CIGARRETES (2025) e THE REAL THAT WAS (2025).
Ha diretto THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS (presentato all’IRREVERENTE International Improv Theater Festival, Lisbona, luglio 2025), THE ISLAND OF SLAVES di Pierre de Marivaux (Atene, settembre–ottobre 2025) ed EAGERLY WAITING (dicembre 2025 – presente).

Come educatrice, dal 2020 conduce corsi e workshop di improvvisazione e teatro in Grecia, Stati Uniti, Paesi Bassi, Portogallo e Italia, coltivando la creatività di performer di ogni livello, con particolare attenzione alle esigenze individuali. Fa parte del team organizzativo dell’I.TH.A.C.A. Improv Festival di Atene ed è co-direttrice artistica delle edizioni 2025 e 2026.

È produttrice di Improv Nights e una delle direttrici artistiche della Worlds Apart Residency. È inoltre membro del board e docente della ImproSynthesis School of Improv (Atene, Grecia).

Il suo lavoro più recente, HUMANITARIUM (co-creato con Yoryos Styl), è attualmente finanziato dal programma DIGITAL on STAGE: Cascade Funding Programme dell’European Union.

Maro Lesioti is an actress, improviser, director, musician, and dedicated educator. She a member of the organising team of I.TH.A.C.A. Improv Festival in Athens, Greece and the co-artistic director of 2025’s and 2026’s edition. She is the producer of Improv Nights and one of the artistic directors of the Worlds Apart Residency. She is also a board member and instructor of ImproSynthesis School of Improv (Athens, Greece). Her most recent work (co-created with Yoryos Styl) HUMANITARIUM is now being funded by the DIGITAL on STAGE: Cascade Funding Programme from the European Union.

Yann è attore di improvvisazione da venticinque anni. È direttore artistico della compagnia Crache-Texte e del festival La Semaine de l’Impro a Nancy. Ha inoltre la fortuna di far parte del progetto Trophée Culture Diversité, che gli ha permesso di offrire a giovani appassionati l’opportunità di esibirsi su alcuni dei palcoscenici più prestigiosi di Francia, tra cui la Comédie-Française, Chaillot, il Théâtre National de Strasbourg e molti altri.

Il suo metodo pedagogico ruota attorno a due concetti semplici: le “barchette” e la battaglia coreografica. Si tratta di restare flessibili, continuando allo stesso tempo a spingere sempre di più il motore.er.

BIO
Yann has been an improvisational actor for twenty-five years. He is the artistic director of the Crache-Texte company and the La Semaine de l’Impro festival in Nancy. He is also fortunate to be part of the Trophée Culture Diversité project, which has allowed him to offer passionate teenagers the opportunity to perform on some of France’s most prestigious stages: the Comédie Française, Chaillot, the Théâtre National de Strasbourg, and more. His career has also been influenced by his encounters with classical theater, puppetry, clowning, and even occasionally by his appearances in films and on various online platforms. His teaching method revolves around two simple concepts: the “little boats” and the choreographic battle. It’s about staying flexible while always pushing the engine harder.

Con oltre dieci anni di esperienza, Rocío Barquilla è un’appassionata performer di improvvisazione, formatrice e regista presso The VLC Playground, dove insegna e si esibisce regolarmente come membro stabile del cast. Supervisiona la School of Improv di The VLC Playground e accompagna gli studenti avanzati nello sviluppo di storytelling e lavoro di scena.
Con un Master in Teatro Applicato, Rocío porta la sua esperienza anche fuori dal palcoscenico, utilizzando l’improvvisazione per insegnare public speaking, lingue, sviluppo personale e per condurre diversi workshop applicati in ambiti differenti. Il suo approccio unisce tecnica, creatività e gioco, rendendo l’improv accessibile e trasformativa per tuttə.
Ha partecipato a diversi festival internazionali di improvvisazione e nel 2026 è diventata Direttrice Artistica del Narrativa Improv Festival di Valencia.
Ha due gatti sloveni, una passione per il Giappone fin dall’infanzia e un interesse introverso per gli esseri umani.

With over a decade of experience, Rocío Barquilla is a passionate improv performer, educator, and director at The VLC Playground, where she teaches and performs regularly as a permanent cast member. She oversees The VLC Playground School of Improv and teaches advanced students about storytelling and scene work. Holding a Master’s in Applied Theater, Rocío extends her expertise beyond the stage, using improvisation to teach public speaking, languages, personal development, and a variety of applied workshops across different fields. Her approach blends technique, creativity, and playfulness, making improv accessible and transformative for all. She’s been part of a few international improv festivals and in 2026 she became the Artistic Director of Narrativa Improv Festival in Valencia. She has two Slovenian cats, a passion for Japan since she was a child, and an introverted interest in humans.
