⚡️Alumni Spotlight – Catherine Nguyen!
A graduate of Screen Music Program, 6th Edition (summer 2024), Catherine Nguyen is a Los Angeles-based Vietnamese-American composer whose interest in diverse storytelling has led her to work in AAA games as well as studio and independent film projects.
She is currently one of two composers for 4:LOOP, an upcoming IP from Bad Robot Games and PlayStation. As a contractor at Blizzard Entertainment, Catherine is a credited composer on World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, where she also assisted Glenn Stafford and the music team with additional writing, editing, and score mixing. Her work at Blizzard also includes Wwise implementation, additional arranging, and play-testing for Diablo IV under composers Ted Reedy and Leo Kaliski. Additionally, she has contributed to Arknights, AFK Journey, and Slay the Princess as an orchestrator.
Beyond music for games, Catherine has worked in the music departments for Netflix’s limited series Dragon Age: Absolution (2022), Disney's Encanto (2021), Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020), and the Sky TV original series Murder at the Cottage (2021). A former mentee of the AWFC mentorship program under Christophe Beck, she was also selected as one of ten finalists to attend the inaugural BMI Composer Lab in 2025.
When not in the studio, she can be found reading, playing video games, or exploring events, markets, and new cafés in the city!
We’re very proud of you, Catherine!
