🇮🇹 Con estremo dispiacere siamo costretti ad annunciarvi che quella del 2025 è stata l'ultima edizione della UltraMilano-Sanremo con organizzazione di Impossible Target.
Lo sforzo immane, molte volte poco compreso, che abbiamo profuso in questi anni è stato totale e molto, molto stancante. Mesi e mesi di preparazione, incastri, colloqui, incontri, gestione delle criticità, organizzazione ed infine speranza.
Il trend negativo di queste ultime edizioni, aggiunto al fatto di dover sempre risolvere una marea di problemi e di situazioni che si venivano a creare puntualmente ogni anno, ci ha fatto desistere dal continuare.
Abbiamo onorato l'accordo che avevamo con i detentori del marchio UMS, arrivando alla naturale scadenza dello stesso.
In questi anni siamo stati mossi principalmente dalla passione, mettendo da parte lavoro e famiglia, sfruttando ogni momento libero per organizzare il tutto. Abbiamo pensato che continuare, quindi, sarebbe stato un inutile accanimento.
Abbiamo altresì capito che questa manifestazione interessa poco, non siamo mai stati tutelati in oltre 10 anni di attività.
Abbiamo avuto enormi problemi e moltissime delusioni soprattutto dalle associazioni liguri, mai realmente interessate ad un evento che si svolgeva a casa loro.
Gli accordi saltati all'ultimo momento, senza un motivo specifico, dopo anni di collaborazione (vedi spiaggia di Sanremo) hanno fatto il resto.
Sinceramente ci siamo sempre chiesti il motivo per cui una gara internazionale come questa non abbia pressoché mai suscitato interesse sul territorio.
Ci sono state ovviamente anche alcune splendide eccezioni: la nostra amica Rosy Prette di Pietra Ligure, il grande Genny Battaglia che non finiremo mai di ringraziare, il nostro socio Luca Marenco ad Ovada e Moreno Ponzinibio a Casteggio. Persone che hanno creduto in noi e nella manifestazione.
Crediamo che sia un vero peccato, lo è sempre quando una ultramaratona cessa di esistere.
È come una bella storia d'amore, intensa, ma che poi finisce.
Siamo consapevoli che la UMS non ha mai preso veramente il volo come avrebbe dovuto, con la difficoltà oggettiva di tenerla in piedi negli ultimi anni.
Tutto ciò è molto triste ma è così.
Ringraziamo Michele Graglia e Riccardo Marvaldi che ci hanno concesso la possibilità di organizzare, e soprattutto vivere, UMS.
Il marchio, come sapete, è di loro proprietà e saranno loro a decidere se e come affidarla ad altri, qualora qualcuno volesse mettersi in gioco e provare a riorganizzarla.
Ringraziamo di cuore tutti gli staff, le famose giubbe rosse, che per 9 anni hanno contribuito in maniera fondamentale alla buona riuscita della gara. Ringraziamo il leggendario Andrea Migone, che continuerà a collaborare con noi con altri eventi.
Ringraziamo tutte le persone che in questi anni si sono succedute nel Consiglio Direttivo di Impossible Target.
E ovviamente e soprattutto GRAZIE a tutti gli atleti che ci hanno donato la loro fiducia e hanno partecipato a questa avventura.
Noi guardiamo avanti, come abbiamo sempre fatto, con in mente già altre avventure...magari lunghe 100 miglia o giù di lì...

🇬🇧 It is with great regret that we are forced to announce that 2025 was the last edition of the UltraMilano-Sanremo organized by Impossible Target.
The immense effort, often poorly understood, that we have made in these years has been total and very, very demanding.
Months and months of preparation, interlocking, interviews, meetings, management of critical issues, organization and finally hope.
The negative trend of these last editions, added to the fact of permanently having to solve a lot of problems and situations that were created punctually every year, made us give up continuing.
We honoured the agreement with the UMS trademark holders, reaching the natural end of the contract.
During all these years, we were moved mainly by passion, putting aside work and family, taking advantage of every free moment to organize everything. Continuing, therefore, would have been a useless obstinacy.
We understood that this event is of little interest, we have never been protected in over 10 years of activity.
We have had enormous problems and many disappointments, especially from the Ligurian associations, never really interested in an event that took place at home for them.
The agreements that fell through at the last minute, without a specific reason, after years of collaboration (an example Sanremo beach) made the rest. Honestly, we have always wondered why such an international race never gained interest locally in the area.
Fortunately there were some splendid exceptions. We mention four for all the others: our friend Rosy Prette of Pietra Ligure, our friend Genny Battaglia who we will never stop thanking, our partner Luca Marenco in Ovada and Moreno Ponzinibio in Casteggio. People who trusted us and our race!
We believe it is a real shame, it is when an ultramarathon ceases to exist. It is like a beautiful love story, very intense, but then it ends.
We are also aware that the UMS has never really taken off as it should have, with the objective difficulty of keeping it afloat in recent years.
All this is very sad but it is so.
We thank Michele Graglia and Riccardo Marvaldi who gave us the opportunity to organize, and above all live, UMS.
The trademark is their property and they will decide if and how to entrust it to others, should someone want to get involved and try to reorganize it.
We sincerely thank all the staff, the famous red jackets, who for 9 years have contributed in a fundamental way to the success of the race. You have been so many and wonderful.
We thank the legendary Andrea Migone who will continue to work with us for other events.
We thank all the members of Impossible Target Organisation Board, who took part of it during the course of the years.
And obviously and above all THANK YOU to all the athletes who have given us their trust and participated in this adventure.
We always look ahead, as we always did, thinking of new adventures....maybe 100 miles long or something!
