Support Jamaine's trip to Italy Jamaine is one of the youth ambassadors for the Ki-o-rahi Akotanga Iho leadership group represting NZ at the International Cultural Kite Festival in Italy.

Jamaine Young is a 14 year old from Te Tai Tokerau who has been selected as one of the youth ambassadors for the Ki-o-rahi Akotanga Iho leadership group. This rōpū is represting Aotearoa at the International Cultural Kite Festival in Cervia, Italy. Every year, 200 guests from 30 countries are invited to the festival, and this year Māori have been chosen as one of two Guests of Honour. Ki-o-rahi Ak

otanga Iho will be demonstrating traditional Māori games, making and flying traditional manu tukutuku (kites) and performing kapa haka every day over the 10 day festival. They will also be leading the ANZAC commemoration at the Ravena War Cemetery and participating in a ki-o-rahi tournament dedicated to the 28th Māori Battalion, many of whom were wounded or lost their lives whilst serving in Italy during the Second World War. As a part of this group he needs to raise funds to cover travelling costs and performance gear.
