MARGARET — 100 years of pure 8-Metre pedigree.
Launched in 1926 from Anker & Jensen in Norway and designed by Johan Anker, Margaret was commissioned by Sir Ernest J. Roney, Olympic silver medallist in the 8-Metre class.
For 44 years, the Ballantine whisky family shared her helm across three generations — with 12 whisky glasses the sole indulgence below deck. A 2004 restoration returned her original Second-Rule sail plan, while victories at Vele Storiche Viareggio in 2019 and 2022 confirmed that her racing instinct remains undimmed.

Varata nel 1926 dal cantiere Anker & Jensen in Norvegia e progettata da Johan Anker, Margaret fu commissionata da Sir Ernest J. Roney, medaglia d’argento olimpica nella Classe 8 Metri.
Per 44 anni, tre generazioni della famiglia Ballantine, celebre per il whisky, si sono succedute al suo timone, con dodici bicchieri da whisky come unico vezzo custodito sottocoperta. Un restauro completato nel 2004 le ha restituito l’originale piano velico della Second Rule, mentre le vittorie alle Vele Storiche di Viareggio nel 2019 e nel 2022 hanno confermato che il suo spirito competitivo è rimasto intatto.
