JUDGE & FEATURED ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT for LA DIGITAL DOLCE VITA 🍋

Some people discover 3D later in life. started at six.

Born in East Berlin and now based in Cologne, Cornelius has spent most of his life turning pixels, polygons and an arguably unhealthy obsession with detail into incredibly cinematic worlds.

His environments feel somewhere between a movie still, a forgotten place and a story you arrived too late to witness.

A self-taught 3D artist, Cornelius has worked on projects for NASA JPL, BMW, Atlantic Records, ZA/UM and more, creating everything from far-future concepts to meticulously detailed environments.

And now, he is bringing his dark, cinematic vision of the Sweet Life to Sorrento.

We’re thrilled to welcome Cornelius Dämmrich as a Judge and Featured Artist of LA DIGITAL DOLCE VITA, where he’ll help us decide which visions of Dolce Vita deserve a place on our walls.

So… what is La Digital Dolce Vita? 🍋

There’s no right answer.

Maybe it’s a hot Nutella croissant by the sea. Maybe it’s a night around a fire in the desert. Maybe it’s a weekend barbecue with your friends, or a completely different feeling, memory or moment.

For the SODA Digital Art Exhibition 2027, we’re asking artists to create their own interpretation of La Digital Dolce Vita through animation.

10 artists will be selected by our international jury and their work will be exhibited for an entire month at Villa Fiorentino, Sorrento.

No right answer. No single definition. Just your version of the sweet life.

FIRST LOOK AT THE VENUE WHERE SODA DIGITAL ART EXHIBITION WILL TAKE PLACE. 🏛️

From March 9th to April 4th, 2027, Villa Fiorentino, in the heart of Sorrento, will become the home of a month-long international digital art exhibition.

As part of SODA Festival 2027, we’re bringing digital art beyond the screen and into one of Sorrento’s most beautiful historic spaces.

A celebration of the Italian sweet life, reimagined through digital art, animation, moving images and contemporary visual experiences.

For one month, the architecture and cultural heritage of Sorrento will meet a new generation of international digital artists.

INTRODUCING OUR NEXT JUDGE & FEATURED ARTIST.

For the SODA Digital Art Exhibition 2027, we’re welcoming Daria Anise (.deva) to the jury and featuring her work as part of the exhibition in Sorrento.

3D artist working across procedural graphics, simulations, particles and hair, Daria creates worlds where vibrant colors, soft textures and surreal, slightly unhinged metaphors come together.

With around a decade of experience across motion design, VFX and immersive media, her practice sits at the intersection of art and technology. Her academic background in art and design, with a focus on information technologies, shapes an approach that combines creative experimentation with strong technical expertise.

We’re excited to bring her unique visual language to Sorrento and have her perspective as part of the SODA jury.

We’re excited to announce Ricardo Orts, the creative mind behind .studio, as the first Judge and Featured Artist of the SODA Digital Art Exhibition 2027.

Founded by architect and digital artist Ricardo Orts, Ulises Studio explores near-future architectures, poetic imagery and compelling narratives, blending humanistic ideas with cutting-edge technology to imagine a future that feels both authentic and innovative.

His work draws from cultures and perspectives around the world, constantly pushing the boundaries of architectural and digital storytelling.

In 2024, Forbes recognized Ulises Studio among the 100 best creatives in business.

Now, he joins SODA in Sorrento as both Judge and Featured Artist.

🍋 LA DIGITAL DOLCE VITA IS LIVE.

The first phase of La Digital Dolce Vita is officially open.

We’re inviting digital artists from all over the world to show us what La Dolce Vita means to them through an original animation of up to 60 seconds, created in 9:16 vertical format.

🎨 10 winning artists will have their work exhibited at Villa Fiorentino in Sorrento, Italy, throughout the month of March 2027.

And yes, this is your chance to see your work exhibited in a real museum, in the heart of Sorrento.

⏰ Deadline: October 18, 2026 at midnight CEST

A second phase dedicated to static images will open later this year.

🍋 LA DIGITAL DOLCE VITA IS COMING TO SORRENTO.

A real-life Digital Art Exhibition, in the heart of Sorrento, celebrating the beauty, style and spirit of the Italian Dolce Vita through the eyes of digital artists from all over the world.

Your work could be exhibited in a real museum alongside some of the most exciting names in digital art.

There are two categories to submit to:

🎞️ Motion Art & Animation: for moving images, animations and motion-based work.
🖼️ Static Art & Design: for digital illustrations, artworks and static visual design.

And yes: submitting is completely FREE.

The Open Call launches in September, with submissions for Motion Art opening first.
We’ll reveal the exact dates right here on Instagram.
