For more than fifteen years, Sean Lucas has been documenting Japanese Time Attack from the inside.
The mind behind NDF , Sean has built one of the most distinctive archives of the Japanese Attack scene, documenting not only the cars and lap times, but the people, workshops and ideas that have shaped this culture over the years.
From Narita Dogfight and its iconic Machine Checks to the 80R: The Frontrunners of Japan photography series, his work has given enthusiasts around the world a rare window into a scene that, for a long time, existed almost entirely within Japan.
That same commitment to documentation now continues with Attack Machine Archive: an ever-growing digital project created to preserve the machines, specifications and history behind Japanese Attack culture.
Sean will take the MSB 2026 stage alongside Manuel Cucca to talk about Narita Dogfight, the origins and evolution of the Japanese Time Attack scene, his relationship with Tsukuba, and what he has learned from more than fifteen years spent documenting it from behind the lens.
