European Festival of Ancient Greece

European Festival of Ancient Greece and spreading ethical values, such as the centrality of the person, integration, responsibility and active citizenship.

Our organization promotes, supports and disseminates the research, the studies and the dissemination of the ancient mediterranean civilization cultures, activating experiential learning processes linked to the great themes of the history and arts. The international project Ευρωπαϊκό Φεστιβάλ Αρχαίας Ελλάδας "ΕΦΑΕ" - European Festival of Ancient Greece, adopts as its logo a stylized owl which in An

cient Greece was a symbol of wisdom, intelligence, understanding and problem solving, managing with its keen gaze to penetrate the darkness and bring the light of knowledge. The ΕΦΑΕ project, was born from the meeting, the wish and the enthusiasm of a group of professionals engaged for years in the field of education, coaching, art and the organization of major national and international cultural events dedicated to all age groups, with particular attention to young Europeans high school students of different fields of study (classical, scientific, linguistic, artistic, humanistic, tourism, sports, dance, music, fashion and IT). The project promotes the social and cultural development of the territories, sustainable tourism, the enhancement of places of historical-archaeological interest, involving the greatest number of people and other international organizations to create a fertile base for meetings and ideas to strengthen the European identity. It supports and disseminates the research and historical culture of ancient Greece, the cradle of European civilization, of art in all its forms, with particular regard to the disciplines of theater, sport, music, dance, poetry, sculpture, architecture, ancient fashion design, technology, ancient and modern Greek culinary art, activating creative knowledge and interaction processes connected to the great themes of history, mythology, literature, archeology, philosophy and sciences, acquiring consequently the memory of the past to orient oneself in the present and plan the future. It offers through initiatives that foster the relationship and confrontation with each other, the opportunity for students and adults to participate to educational entertainment paths (online, live in the territories of ancient Greece and in Europe), carrying out training activities with a free methodology (inductive method, cooperative learning, action-research, etc.) During the course of the project, experiential learning paths are organized with the support of institutional and other local organizations, within the most impressive historical sites of ancient Greece (archaeological areas, monuments, theaters, stadiums, temples, agora, polis, gymnasium); here, the imagination takes shape and through numerous activities, such as: educational workshops, debates, representations, historical, literary, theatrical, poetic paths, culinary, artistic events, historical-artistic guided tours, cultural trips, excursions, meetings, conferences, seminars, conventions, congresses, performances, readings, exhibitions, concerts, education and training courses, we create an innovative journey between mind, body and emotions while preserving the passion and originality of the history of the times in which it takes place. The conception and development of the project is entrusted to a team of international experts. Historians, sculptors, archaeologists, artists, athletes, professors of history, philosophy, literature, art history, foreign languages, science and technology, visual arts and physical education, collaborate actively at the creation of itineraries with the intent to explore, discover, through the experiences of our predecessors, other horizons on the awareness of the human being and to foster cultural and artistic exchange in a European perspective. The project aims to become a reference asset for all students and adults, which are interested to experience through this epic journey an innovative way of learning and well being. To favor the propensity to ideation, to personal and cultural growth through a practical-creative approach, developing a method of thought and practice that goes deep into action, which allows you to look inside with greater awareness, regaining possession of your own feelings and emotions and which leads to the realization of common projects with the construction of forms of cooperation. To encourage a better knowledge of one's abilities, to act in a responsible, conscious and democratic way, to develop a cognitive process "learning to learn" that leads to knowing how to understand, know how to apply, know how to synthesize, know how to analyze, how to evaluate, to spread the knowledge of the artistic and cultural heritage of the territories, to support actions of cultural mediation, social inclusion, generational exchange, providing useful tools to develop concrete skills and orienting oneself in the creative managerial work branch.

🇬🇷🧿European Festival of Ancient Greece: an educational and cultural journey celebrating beauty and universal values.

The 17th edition of the international educational project AGON has just concluded—an event filled with emotion and discovery, hosted amid the timeless charm of Ancient Greece, cradle of civilization and of the great human ideals.

Once again this year, the experience offered young participants a unique opportunity to live culture as an encounter, dialogue, and personal growth. A journey through art, knowledge, and genuine relationships that invited everyone to rediscover the power of beauty and shared well-being.

“AGON is not just an educational project,” says Valentino Berton, President of the European Festival of Ancient Greece. “It’s a way to explore the world through art, emotion, and beauty—to learn that culture is a bridge connecting people, making them more aware and free.”

During the festival, participants took part in readings, lectures, film screenings, art workshops, theatrical and musical performances, as well as moments of play and discussion. These activities, inspired by Mediterranean cultures, demonstrated how knowledge can become a living experience and how tradition can be a source of renewal.

Young people from all over Italy and various European countries shared intense days of creativity, discovery, and friendship. They experienced firsthand the importance of values such as respect, responsibility, inclusion, freedom, and authenticity—principles that today, more than ever, form the foundation of an open and supportive community.

The experience in Greece became a true tribute to our origins, opening minds and hearts to a civilization that has shaped the entire world and offering moments of deep emotion and connection.

The European Festival of Ancient Greece extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this edition possible and reaffirms its commitment to promoting projects that unite education, art, and universal values—working together to build a more human and conscious future.

🪐Kosmos educational path 🧍🏻‍♀️

Have you ever visit the International Hippocrates foundation in Kos island?

Here you are, where “Kosmos” project starts.

It starts from the fundamental concept of ‘Kόσμος’, that is, from a vision of the world that is based on a harmonious balance between the different parts of the universe and the human being and,
retracing the paths trodden by Hippocrates and his pupils, we will reconstruct the history of his
philosophy and medical practices that are based on the idea that human health derives from an ordered and balanced relationship between the body and the surrounding environment, that is, that human health is absolutely inseparable from the universal order and balance of the natural elements.

🤼‍♂️This week we celebrate the “European Week of Sport”⛹🏽‍♂️

🇬🇷 The Greeks identified the agón as a fundamental principle of their paidéia. Some of these principles inspired ancient agonal philosophy and these principles can be still found not just in current sports education, but in general education as well, seen both as means to pursue knowledge and virtue through commitment and effort, and as actions that presume the transmission of values for socialization aimed at the development of democratic relationships, conflict management and the construction of a better and peaceful society. (From an essay by Emanuele Isidori)

Through the Agon educational project, our book 📖 “The Values of AGON” and many other linked activities, we aim to promote values such as integration, inclusion, respect, equality and responsibility among the younger generations.

Kosmos - The greek cultural routes ✨

What is the world made of? How does it work? Is it alive, or is it a machine? For over two thousand years, these questions have stirred the human mind: drawing poets, philosophers, mathematicians, mystics, and scientists into the shared quest to understand the cosmos. 🎉 A new publication is now available!

📚 Le emozioni intelligenti. Pratiche di cura dell’io (Emotional Intelligence. Practices of Self-Care) has just been released!

This collective, multidisciplinary, and profoundly human volume explores emotional intelligence as a key to navigating the complexity of our time.

👁🗨 In an era shaped by the fusion of human and machine, the natural and the artificial, this book aims to restore the foundational role of emotions—as embodied, relational, pedagogical, and transformative knowledge.

✨ From psychology to philosophy, education to sports, mindfulness to clinical hypnosis, the essays in this collection show how caring for the self begins with emotional awareness, where vulnerability becomes a strength and relationships become generative spaces.

💡 Key topics include:

The C.U.R.A. model for emotional intelligence
Hypnosis as a pathway to emotional healing
Mindscape and ecopsychology
Emotional education in schools and sports
Humanity and artificial intelligence: an ontological challenge

🧠 Because emotions are not obstacles to rationality, but the very condition for deep, meaningful thought.

📖 "Emotional Intelligence. Practices of Self-Care" is an invitation to rediscover feeling as a form of knowledge, and care as an ethical and educational practice.

👥 Edited by: Maristella Trombetta, Daniela Poggiolini, Emanuele Isidori

Featuring contributions from an international team of researchers and therapists.
