Congratulations to the awardees selected in collaboration with our partner societies:

🌐ESRI - 2 ArcGis personal use licences

Antonio Iannone
for his work on Hotspot Analysis for discriminating geochemical Anomalies and estimating Baseline levels in the Soils of an Intensely Anthropized Volcanic Region in Italy. &
Luca Biamino
for his work on study and modelling of the interactions detween infiltration water, temperatures and inducted deformations in the karst system of the Bossea Cave

🏛 SIMP – Travel Grant for Junior Associates
Arianna Casarin
for her research “Unveiling Roman Mortars through Images: Combined Approach on the Thermal Baths of Teate Marrucinorum (Chieti, Italy)”.

🌍 AIQUA – Travel Grant & 1-year Association Membership
Jamilah Padma Vitolo
for her work on oxygen-driven changes in ostracod assemblages from the Lucania Basin.

We’re excited to introduce our upcoming roundtable on “Climate change adaptation and resilience: strategies for the future.”

Four speakers from different fields of Geosciences will explore technologies, climate research, Earth Observation, and biodiversity to address today’s global challenges:

Michele Ierardi – Tools and technologies for climate adaptation
Massimo Frezzotti – Climate evolution, paleoclimate evidence, and the risks of crossing global tipping points
Marco Casucci – Earth Observation for climate monitoring
Marco Muscioni – The meaning of vertebrate palaeontology in the biodiversity crisis

Michael Booth is Earth Observation Outreach and Data Visualisation Content Coordinator at ESA, with a remarkable career spanning over 60 countries. Formerly Head of Multimedia at UNEP, he has produced award-winning environmental documentaries for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and BBC, exploring the Arctic, Antarctica, and beyond.
