We continue to announce the 3 artists awarded with the VISIO Production Fund 2025. Their new films will premiere at the 19th edition of Lo schermo dell’arte, November 11-15, 2026.
Rafik Greiss with “Untitled” produced by Lo schermo dell’arte, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Kunsthalle Bern and Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci with the support of the VISIO Production Fund.
Rafik Greiss (b. 1997) is an Egyptian multidisciplinary artist living between Paris and Cairo. Rooted in an intuitive approach, his work moves between image and object, treating images as spatial forms and materials as carriers of sensation, often creating works that are at once tactile, immersive, and in flux. Solo exhibitions have recently been held at Galerie Balice Hertling and Louvre (Paris); Kunsthalle Zürich; the 18th Istanbul Biennial; with forthcoming presentations at KW Institute for Contemporary Art (Berlin) and Conciliazione 5 (Rome). His work is held in public and private collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York); the Pinault Collection, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Lafayette Anticipations (Paris); and the Zabludowicz Collection (London).
Conceived as a cinematic essay, Greiss’s film unfolds through fragments, accelerations, pauses, and returns. Drifting through Cairo, Alexandria, the Western Desert, and other sites, the work moves across dreamlike settings, reflecting on how time and memory are held, who is permitted to witness or remember, and how history takes shape as it wavers between fact and fiction.
