We are excited to welcome violinist and violist Matt Albert to the soundSCAPE faculty this year! He is the Chair of Chamber Music at the School of Music, Theatre & Dance at the University of Michigan and a specialist in new chamber music.

A founding member of Eighth Blackbird, he now serves as one of the concertmasters for Nu Deco Ensemble and regularly plays as the violist for Alarm Will Sound.

Soprano Tony Arnold will yet again be leading the vocal institute at soundSCAPE this summer! We're excited to welcome back Joshua Rubin to soundSCAPE this summer, leading the Technology for Creativity Course, available to all participants!

This workshop will provide an introduction to using electronics to create and extend musical performance in solo and chamber music contexts. The result will be each participant making their own interactive electronic performance platform that is an extension of their instrument.

Study flute in beautiful Blonay, Switzerland this summer (July 1-10) with renowned contemporary flute expert Lisa Cella. A champion of contemporary music, Lisa has performed throughout the US and abroad. She is Artistic Director if Sam Diego New Music and a founding member of its resident ensemble NOISE. She is a full professor of music and department chair at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a founding member of its faculty contemporary music ensemble, RUCKUS.

Cellist Felix Fan will again be joining soundSCAPE’s faculty this summer, sharing his world-renowned expertise in contemporary music with our participants.
