When we asked Massimiliano to collaborate with us, he shared what photography means to him:

"Through photography, I am able to return to that moment when Beauty revealed itself-an instant so profound that it could never be fully embraced.

In this journey into the 'past,' I rediscover a part of myself: the awareness of being loved. Ultimately, Beauty is precisely this-a bridge to happiness, a sign that points to someone more intimate to us than we are to ourselves, someone we can be certain will never abandon us."

We’re so proud to have created “Con ojos de mujeres”, our exhibition on women in tango, in Catania, where the tango community welcomed it with wonder and joy.

We’re excited to bring it to Isula again, and we’ll also translate the short reflections we’ve written.

After the screening of the documentary "Disintango - Un abrazo feminista” by Valérie Loewensberg, we will gather for our usual charla.
It will be a collective moment to delve deeper into the themes that emerged from the screening and to share experiences and reflections as women and q***r people dancing tango.

Dialogue is a fundamental part of building vibrant, critical, and participatory communities.

We look forward to seeing you.

Historically, tango was associated with machismo, but in recent years
feminism and the LGBTQIA+ movement have been reshaping it, opening up
new ways of expression and inclusion. The solemn charm of classical tango is
joined by androgynous bodies, giving rise to a new freedom: creative, technical, but
above all emotional and linked to gender diversity. Many people
fight for this every day. And many of them tell us about it in “Disitango: a
feminist embrace” by Valerie Loewensberg
