Day 4 full program ✶ Join us for the final day of PhMuseum Days 2026 across our venues in Bologna:

✶ 11:00, 16:00 & 18:00 – Guided tours of the Main Circuit exhibitions at Ex Ospedale dei Bastardini alongside PhMuseum

Walk to Serra Madre (Le Serre dei Giardini) for a day dedicated to publishing and photobooks:

✶ 11:00 – Guided tour + presentation of the exhibition Dummies & Books from Folio, featuring projects by alumni from PhMuseum 2025/26 Online Masterclass on Photobook Making led by Nicolas Polli, with Federica Lucia Carducci, Justina Leston, Tim Gassauer and Manu Gruber Unali, 𝓶𝓪𝓻𝓰𝓮, Stefanie Langenhoven, steph.schwiederek, Vivian Poey, and Yvette M.

✶ 15:30 – 17:30 – Book presentations at Photobook Mania 2026 with books by Jenia Fridlyand, BLOW UP PRESS, altana, and Depart Pour L'Image.

Take the opportunity to explore the exhibitions and browse the shelves of international publishers and booksellers before the festival closes!

Day 3 full program ✶ Join us at Ex Ospedale dei Bastardini for a guided tour alongside PhMuseum at 11:00. Come back in the afternoon for our Behind the Scenes artists panels:

✶ 15:30 — Panel #1 with Daniel Martínez, cincinzin, Robin Alysha Clemens, and mirzoyan
✶ 17:30 — Panel #2 with Max Pinckers, Shibboleth, and Jonah Samson

From 10:00 to 20:00, head over to Serra Madre – Le Serre dei Giardini – for Photobook Mania to discover and purchase titles from the shelves of international publishers and booksellers, attend book presentations, and join the launch of PhMuseum Annual #02 – Giardino.

Plus, join a walk around the city starting from 15:00 at Fondazione Home Movies with an introduction by artist , followed by a guided tour by artist mirzoyan at CHEAP municipality billboards on via dell’Abbadia.

Adam Broomberg will lead the workshop The Man of Family at the Fine Art Academy of Bologna in collaboration with Fondazione MAST and Accademia Belle Arti Bologna

We meet again at our main location at 17:00 for a guided tour with exhibited artists Max Pinckers, Jonah Samson, Shibboleth and Daniel Martínez, along with a talk with artist , Alchemilla, and Fondazione Home Movies.

Gear Up Like An Artist: Five Cameras Handpicked By Photographers At PhMuseum Days 2026

The reasons why we end up choosing a camera are wide-ranging. We might seek something small that makes us feel invisible. We might need the quickest tool possible or, on the contrary, a device allowing for slowness and friction. Behind each choice lies a working method, and a way of relating to the subject that is unique to each artist.

It is in this spirit that we explored the individual reasons and special bonds artists have built with their gear. Together with MPB, we asked the professionals shaping the fifth edition of PhMuseum Days – either as exhibiting photographers or as open call judges – to tell us which camera they use (or wish to use) and why. From medium format to pocket compacts, here are 5 choices that help tell the story of their work – and the work to come.

We are opening today ✶ Join us for a walk around the public and off circuit with guided tours at PhMuseum Lab, Spazio Labo' Photography, and Archiginnasio starting at 15:30. The doors at our main location Ex Ospedale dei Bastardini open at the same time.

Bastardini officially inaugurates at 18:30 with an opening ceremony, followed by an open air screening and an aperitivo + standing dinner with Fuego y Matambre ®

Alongside photobooks, the selection therefore also includes artist’s books in a broader sense, as well as publications that combine Risograph printing with other printing techniques.
