Happy birthday, Agatha Christie! 🕵️‍♀️✨

Today, we celebrate the Queen of Crime with a throwback to BolognaBookPlus 2026 and Jackets Off!, the exhibition exploring the many international interpretations of Agatha Christie’s book covers, marking 50 years since her death.

A tribute to the stories, characters and images that have made Agatha Christie an enduring icon of mystery and literature.

As the summer draws to a close and the excitement of Autumn publications beckon, BolognaBookPlus is delighted to announce three new – but very familiar – faces to our team.

A reassuring presence at book fairs across the world, Janet Fritsch will be taking on Head of Sales and Customer Liaison, while international marketing and arts consultant, Alicia Liu will be leading the conference and content programmes. As ever, the positions will report to Guest Director, Jacks Thomas and will work in close liaison with our Italian colleagues. As an additional bonus, the Hosted Publisher programme for BolognaBookPlus will be co-ordinated by international publishing consultant, Emma House.

With combined experience of many years and many countries, BolognaBookPlus is in good shape to serve its exhibitors, speakers and attendees as we look forward to 2027.

A happy coincidence of the : being in New York just in time to visit the wonderful Balbusso Twins exhibition at the Society of Illustrators.

After debuting at , the exhibition is now welcoming visitors in New York, celebrating the artistry that has made the Italian artistic duo Anna and Elena Balbusso, also known as the Balbusso Twins, internationally renowned.

From Bologna to New York: here’s a look back at the exhibition’s first stop at the BBPlus Designers Studio.

The exhibition remains open at the Society of Illustrators until 11 July.
